Samsung will now be known as Samsung in Japan too!

Samsung Brand Logo

Due to political tensions and economic ties between Japan and South Korea, Samsung renamed itself as Galaxy in Japan. However, the company has now renamed itself Samsung abandoning the Galaxy Mobile branding from its official site and support centers.

Starting today, Galaxy Mobile Japan’s online store and social networking services will shine the original Samsung branding. It was a long time since Samsung is keeping away itself from Japan and doing business with its iconic Galaxy tag.

In other parts of the world, the company proudly displays its name – Samsung. Meanwhile, it managed to keep its branding hidden in Japan due to internal concerns, but it’s not the case anymore. Similar to other countries, the company will now be known as Samsung in Japan.

So far, the South Korean tech giant displayed the “Galaxy” tag in Japan not only on its official site but also on social media accounts, the YouTube channel (Galaxy Mobile Japan), and offline authorized stores. Notably, Samsung is an Olympic Games sponsor but didn’t use the original name anywhere in Tokyo.

Samsung plans 2023

This change would benefit Samsung against rivals like Apple in the country. Galaxy Mobile has already gained a pretty solid reputation in the market, which will further grow under Samsung’s name. As the company now feels comfortable presenting itself as Samsung, the Galaxy S23 will now be called Samsung Galaxy S23.

At present, the revamped Samsung shop in Japan has special offers on Galaxy Care, which is also renamed as Samsung Care.

“On February 28, 2023, Japan also changed to Samsung, and the world was unified to Samsung. With the change of the company brand from Galaxy to Samsung in Japan, the name of the official website for Japan and the official account of SNS have changed.” Source

Samsung’s factory will deliver the latest Galaxy smartphones, made by Egyptian hands and global technology. Moreover, it will help transfer technology and technical know-how to the Egyptian market, thus supporting the indigenization of the mobile phone industry in the country.

Egypt’s ICT Minister noted that the govt is keen to introduce incentive schemes for investors and provide a workforce well-versed in electronics-related specializations. The new factory builds on the productive cooperation with Samsung, which paid off with the manufacturing of educational tablets in Egypt.

Samsung provides Rugged Galaxy devices that meet the needs of industries that demand reliable, durable, and powerful mobile devices under a variety of working conditions, even in the harshest environments. Recently, by testing the durability of the Rugged lineup, construction contractor Murray Kruger conveys that the Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro are capable of surviving harsh construction conditions.

Kruger has been in business for 22 years and started his own contracting company in 2012. It specializes in insurance repairs and renovations, possibly one of the harshest construction environments with smoke, ash, clogged basements, toxic fumes, and below-freezing temperatures.

According to a 2022 survey by Samsung Electronics Canada of Toronto Building Society members, more than 40% of respondents believe their current mobile devices cannot cope with their work environment.

Both the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro are IP68 rated and meet the MIL-STD-810H standard for harsh environment durability. The devices are scratch-resistant, water- and dust-resistant, can withstand drops of up to 1.5 meters, and can function in extreme altitudes and temperatures.

The advanced Gloves Mode allows the screens of both devices to remain touch-responsive even if the user is wearing leather gloves. Even, the staff of Kruger Construction also noted that both devices provide excellent connectivity even behind steel barricades or in flooded basements. Galaxy XCover 6 Pro exclusively supports 5G and Wi-Fi 6E for ultra-fast connectivity.

Through both the Samsung rugged devices, the construction crew got creative. Krugers puts several tests but the performance of these devices exceeded expectations.
