Samsung is quite near to launching the Galaxy S23 series, but it can’t stop the official stuff from leaking ahead. In the latest development, Twitter user @Tech_Reve posted press shots with specs sheets of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra in exclusive colors.

Jan. 11 – Original article…

Samsung Galaxy S23 launch is officially scheduled for February 1st, 2023, while a trusted source revealed the design and wallpaper of this upcoming smartphone early. Courtesy of RolandQuandt, we now have official press renders of the Galaxy S23 smartphone along with stock wallpaper.

Starting the rear panel, there is a Galaxy S22 Ultra-inspired vertical Camera arrangement in a Contour Cut design. The vanilla Galaxy S23 smartphone uses triple sensors including a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 10MP telephoto sensor along with an LED flash.

On the front, the Korean tech giant has not introduced the under-display camera technology, but the Infinity-O display delivers the best possible experience. Similar to its predecessor, the S23 comes with punch-hole display, whereas the 10MP front camera is expected to be replaced with a new 12MP snapper.

The source also noted that the Galaxy S23 device has a 6.11-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution as well as an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It has a metal frame combined with a glass cover, which is colored in the color of the back of the housing.

Galaxy S23 Colors:

  • Phantom Black
  • Botanic Green
  • Mystic Lilac (Pink/Purple)
  • Cotton Flower (White)

The overall design of the Galaxy S23 is quite similar to the last year’s Galaxy S22 smartphone. Samsung just refined the design and basically simplified it further, except for the camera design, which is radically revamped. It’s also mentioned in the report that the company may have used high-quality material for the frame.

Last but not least, the official press renders of the Galaxy S23 showcase the stock wallpapers, which look iPhone 12-inspired. In near future, we will get to know more about the smartphone and design ahead of the official launch such as stock wallpapers.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra AnTuTu scores confirm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is incredible

Samsung S23 Ultra AnTuTu scores

One of the most disliked parts of the old Samsung S phones was their processor. Thankfully the company has fixed it this year. The newly launched Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra packs an exclusive Snapdragon processor and AnTuTu benchmark scores have confirmed that it delivers incredible performance.

Samsung used to offer two processors various for its flagship S series phones, one from Qualcomm and another is Exynos, region-wise. Due to this, customers in some countries, such as Europeans had to satisfy with low-performance Exynos variants.

But this is not the case this year. Samsung is equally treating the Galaxy S23 customers worldwide. The company has partnered with Qualcomm and installed a Snapdragon processor on all Galaxy S23 phones named ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy‘.

Since it was a new experiment, Samsung customers were worried whether it would deliver good performance compared to the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset or not. Fans can finally heave a sigh of relief as the AnTuTu test scores have proved that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is a great performer.

YouTuber FoneTech has recently performed the AnTuTu test on the Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone and its final score was 1243687. These scores are much higher compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Galaxy S22 Ultra’s 997862 scores, showing how hard Samsung has worked to provide the best performance to the users.

Galaxy S23 is a big upgrade, but Samsung skips seamless Android updates yet again

Samsung Galaxy S23 Lavender

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S23 series has everything for today’s needs including the fastest processor, the latest software system out of the box, and long updates support. With the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung skipped bringing the seamless Android updates feature, which was highly awaited.

According to AndroidPolice, the Galaxy S23 Ultra (naturally others too) doesn’t support the seamless Android updates feature after all. To verify it, the source managed to run the Treble Info tool, which confirmed Samsung has not enabled the seamless updates feature.

It is surprising that Samsung has not adopted the seamless Android updates support for the Galaxy S23 series. In an interview last year, the One UI department head confirmed that the company is working to bring seamless updates to Galaxy, which could be possible with One UI 6.

Samsung Galaxy s23 seamless Android updates

In the recent past, it was reported that the Android maker (Google) is working to make it mandatory for smartphone vendors to bring support for seamless updates. Samsung is best in terms of Android software updates, matching Apple’s dominance. Still, the company is missing this important feature, which became common nowadays.

No one is unaware of Google and Samsung’s sweet friendship, but the lack of such as great feature forces us to scratch our heads. With seamless updates, smartphones install new firmware updates in a second virtual partition to reduce downtime.

Smartphones like Google Pixel support seamless Android updates feature, letting you continue to use the device during the installation of software. Instead of going into a long downtime, seamless updates help phones to install the software to a second partition while you continue to use the main one.

As soon as the installation completes in the second partition, you are just required to reboot it for a few seconds to merge the new incremental software. We hope the Samsung flagship coming in the next half would eventually bring the seamless updates feature.

Samsung Galaxy S23 brings GOS toggle, is there any throttling issue?

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S23 smartphones are now available for pre-order in various parts of the world. The devices use “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy” globally, which is fine-tuned by Samsung and Qualcomm. After a generation upgrade, the Galaxy S23 still brings a GOS toggle, raising questions.

As spotted by androidauthority, the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series has a GOS performance toggle, similar to the Galaxy S22. Notably, “games performance throttling” was an Exynos 2200 problem, but, the GOS toggle’s existence in Galaxy S23 doesn’t make sense.

The Exynos-powered Galaxy S22 models were widely reported to have a performance throttling issue, which was patched with a GOS toggle. Since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is produced by TSMC, the overheating issue should have been fixed, as seen on 8 Plus Gen 1 models.

If there’s not any performance issue, Samsung may have wanted to continue offering users the option to toggle gaming battery/performance optimizations on and off. Since the 8 Gen 2 chip is already well optimized, Samsung’s toggle may not serve anything notable in performance and overheating.

Inside the Game Booster Labs section, you can find the GOS option entitled Alternate game performance management. When enabled, the function uses an experimental game performance management system as part of improving the performance of select games.

Samsung would start shipping the Galaxy S23 on February 17, while, it’s not appropriate to comment on performance and optimization in the initial days of release. As soon as the device reaches the public, we would be able to share their feedback with our readers.

For now, it’s great to inform you that the Galaxy S23 Ultra defeated all of its rivals in the Android world in the battery drain test. The battery efficiency of the S23 Ultra is even closer to the iPhone 14 Pro Max (just a 10-minute gap from Apple’s flagship).
