The latest January 2023 update for Samsung Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A30 comes with One UI build versions A125U1UES5CWA2 and A305FDDS6CWA3 respectively.

For Galaxy A12, the update is rolling out for unlocked variants on AT&T, Cricket, Comcast, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile networks. While the latest update for Galaxy A30 releasing in India and Sri Lanka.
According to Samsung’s update plan, the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy 13 get 2 security updates in a year, which means the January 2023 update is the first one.
January 2023 security update brings fixes for plenty of issues and vulnerabilities found in Google’s Android operating system and Samsung’s One UI software. These include 52 CVEs and 20 SVEs, which were majorly affecting the phone’s security and its users’ privacy.
Moreover, the current firmware update also focuses on enhancing the system’s stability to reduce errors like crashing, lagging, or freezing. Aside from this, you might also notice some performance improvements after installing this update.
You can manually check and install the latest firmware by opening the Settings app on your smartphone >> Tap on the Software Update >> Click on the Download and install option. Now, follow the on-screen instructions
Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets are picking up a fresh batch of Google Play System updates (GPSU), and if you own a Samsung device, you might already have the new July 2026 build waiting in your notification panel.
Even though the update is new, the Google Play System update date visible in your settings will continue to show July 1, 2026. Google hasn’t published any official changelog detailing what’s actually inside this update.
The rollout sizes vary widely by device, ranging from a modest 167KB to a heftier 18MB. Google tailors the package based on what’s already present on a given device and what needs to be patched or added.
That said, based on how these rollouts typically work, users can expect the usual mix: under-the-hood bug fixes, performance tweaks, security patches, and occasionally some groundwork for features tied to Google’s apps and services.
The rollout appears to be happening on a global scale, so Galaxy users across different regions should start seeing it show up around the same time, though as always with staged rollouts, some may get it a few days before others.
Go to Settings, then tap Security and privacy, followed by Updates, and finally Google Play System update. From there, your device will check for the latest version and let you install it if it’s available.
Samsung revised its One UI software rollout roadmap and made it public along with the August 2026 security patch details. This is an important update for Galaxy users that lets them verify their device’s software lifespan.
Interestingly, Samsung has made no significant changes to its August 2026 software rollout roadmap. Nearly all devices that were listed in the July 2026 chart are carried over to the August 2026 chart.

Samsung reveals August 2026 security patch details – Here’s what’s new for your Galaxy device
Samsung kicks off August 2026 by revealing the details of its latest security patch for Galaxy devices. Ahead of the public release of new foldable phones, the company has detailed this month’s SMR for millions of Galaxy users.
Samsung Mobile is releasing a maintenance release for major flagship models as part of the monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process. This SMR package includes a total of 56 patches from Google and Samsung.

More eligible Samsung Galaxy devices not listed above will receive the July 2026 security update soon. Samsung is rolling out the update in phases, so availability will vary by device, region, and carrier.
To check for the latest software update, open Settings >> Software update >> Download and install on your Galaxy device. If the update is not yet available, it should arrive in phases as Samsung continues its global rollout. Stay tuned.
Samsung just released the first software update based on the official One UI 9 version. The company’s newest foldables are benefiting from this rollout; however, it’s coming a week before the public release of the devices.
First update for Galaxy Z Fold 8 phones
Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra (probably the Z Flip 8 too) are receiving their first software update, which is based on official One UI 9.
Even though it landed on the verge of August, security patches date back to June 2026. The firmware size is over 600 megabytes, and the changelog content doesn’t specify the target changes beyond stability improvements.
That said, this update is aimed at early units of the devices. GregglesTV confirmed the rollout for Galaxy Z Fold 8, while tipster Kailash spotted the update for the Ultra version as well, making the Flip 8 also a beneficiary.

One UI 9 Update Rollout
Samsung may keep the Stable One UI 9 update restricted to its new foldable phones for a specific period, which could be anything between weeks and months.
The public rollout begins on August 7, the date when the Z8 series goes on sale. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 series is gearing up to receive the fifth Beta firmware update in August.
Samsung also plans to expand the Beta Program in August 2026. Galaxy S25 series is ready to make the jump, while the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 may also be preparing for their turn.
