Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 grab October 2026 update
November 6 | Samsung has begun expanding the October 2026 security update to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. The initial deployment has begun in South Korea, with users getting the new OTA through a firmware ending with AZJ5.
Original article: October 29
Samsung has started rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Watch 9 in South Korea. The update is based on One UI 9 Watch and includes the October 2026 security patch. It comes with firmware version L350XXU1AZJ3 and has a download size of around 230MB.
The latest update mainly focuses on improving the stability and security of the Galaxy Watch 9. According to the changelog, Samsung has applied stabilization code to the device. It also mentions that stabilization code related to terminal operation has been applied. However, Samsung has not shared more details about these changes.
The update does not mention any major new features. Instead, it seems to focus on improving the watch’s stability and keeping the device up to date with the latest security improvements. Security updates help protect devices from possible security risks.
Currently, the update is available in South Korea. Samsung has not yet announced when it will be released in other countries. Users in other regions may have to wait for the update to arrive.
Galaxy Watch 9 users can check for the latest update through the Galaxy Wearable app on their connected smartphone. If the update is available, they can download and install it by following the instructions on the screen. The new update brings the October 2026 security patch and stability improvements to the Galaxy Watch 9.

Galaxy phones get new GPSU as Samsung confirms 200+ patches in November 2026 SMR
Samsung is bringing the second security update to Galaxy devices dated October 2026, in various countries. The company has also detailed its November 2026 SMR, offering more than 200 security improvements to Galaxy users. Meanwhile, Samsung phones have started getting a new October 2026 GPSU amid One UI 9 expansion.
Samsung phones receive new October 2026 GPSU
Samsung users found that a new GPSU dated October 2026 has already been installed on their Galaxy devices. Google has silently deployed the latest patches, probably via a server-side rollout, making the OTA ready to install.
You can access the GPSU interface through Settings > Security and privacy. Tapping the Updates tab redirects you to the destination. Either tap Download and install or Restart, based on whether the tab is to install the update.
Google Play System updates have become critical on Android devices. The OEM no longer waits to ship incremental improvements with OS upgrades. GPSU does the work, and they now release at the same pace as security updates.
Your Galaxy device may have received a new GPSU regardless of the OS version. Whether you are on the latest Android 17-based One UI 9 or the older Android 15-based One UI 7, the October GPSU may already be there waiting.
Samsung is rapidly expanding One UI 9.0 official upgrade. Flagship phones and foldables have received the major software as well as a follow-up security patch, with Samsung now focusing on budget phones and tablet lineup.

Samsung ends software support for two Galaxy phones
Samsung has officially updated its security maintenance schedule for November 2026, marking the end of software support for two budget-friendly phones.
Both the Galaxy A04e and Galaxy M04, which were previously covered under Samsung’s Quarterly Security Updates schedule, have been completely removed from the list. This indicates that both devices have officially reached their End of Life (EOL) status regarding official software maintenance.
In the previous update schedule released in October 2026, both entry-level smartphones were actively receiving quarterly security maintenance patches. However, in the updated November 2026 security plan, Samsung revised its support tier structure, dropping these models entirely:
- Galaxy A04e: Dropped from Quarterly Security Updates (Support ended)
- Galaxy M04: Dropped from Quarterly Security Updates (Support ended)
Neither the Galaxy A04e nor the Galaxy M04 will receive routine monthly or quarterly security patches. Existing apps will continue to work as normal. However, over time, the lack of new security patches may expose the software to newer system vulnerabilities.
In rare instances, Samsung has been known to issue standalone critical patches for serious security flaws even on unsupported devices, though regular scheduled updates will no longer occur.
If you are using either of these devices as your primary phone, upgrading to a newer model with guaranteed long-term software support is recommended to ensure your personal data stays safe.

November began but Galaxy S25 phones getting 2nd update dated October 2026
Samsung has a new software update for users of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in November 2026, but it’s still dated October 2026. This isn’t a random or rare firmware, as various Galaxy phones are getting it recently.
Samsung has made the Galaxy S26 series pricier, which surprisingly made the Galaxy S25 series a competitive purchase. With the older flagships getting new camera features through software update, there’s no necessity of the newest models.
Galaxy S25 Ultra is available as Refurbished in the US and Europe. In India, Amazon is offering the flagship model for under INR 85,000. The device comes with a capable camera, fluid performance, and Galaxy AI capabilities.
Last month, Samsung provided an October 2026 update to several devices. Galaxy S25 series was one of them, bringing a plethora of new features. Later, Samsung dropped a separate update to install October 2026 patches.
As November began, Galaxy S25 users anticipated the latest patches, but Samsung has something else: a 2nd October 2026 update (via Kailash).
The firmware weighs around 700 megabytes for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and carries the latest security patches released in October 2026. Owners of Samsung’s 2025 flagships can identify the update via build versions ending in DZJB.
Build versions:
- S931NKSUDDZJB: Galaxy S25
- S936NKSUDDZJB: Galaxy S25+
- S938NKSUDDZJB: Galaxy S25 Ultra
The update changelog mentions system stability and performance updates. However, the size of the package signals even more under-the-hood improvements.
Samsung won’t stop here; expect another software update in a few weeks. That should surely include the November 2026 security patches, as the Galaxy S25 lineup is guaranteed to receive priority monthly software updates.
Check for updates through Settings > Software update > Download and install.
