Verizon releases December 2022 security update for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3 in the US

Samsung has started delivering the December 2022 Android security patch update for its 2021’s foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the US. The update is currently released for Verizon-locked customers in the United  States and should soon expand to other users.

As per the information, the company is releasing this update with performance improvements for the Fold 3 and Flip 3 devices. It also optimizes the system’s security and stability in order to protect your device from unwanted errors and deliver seamless functionality throughout One UI apps and services.

On the other flip, Samsung’s December 2022 patch details also mention fixes for 80 issues and vulnerabilities which were significantly harming the system’s security and its user’s privacy. These include  5 critical, 60 high, and 2 moderate levels of CVEs from Google’s Android OS and 13 SVEs from Samsung’s One UI software.

Besides these, there is nothing that the official changelog reveals. Earlier these phones got access to Android 13-based One 5.0 software which installed a handful of new features to them.

In the meantime, Samsung has also started testing the upcoming One UI 5.1 software on some Galaxy devices internally. It means, more advanced features, improvements, and customization abilities are coming soon to the device.

In any case, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 phones at Verizon US are getting the December 2022 update with the One UI build version F711USQU3EVL9 and F926USQU2EVL9 respectively. You can now get access to it through the Settings and Software update section.
