Product of the Year award:

The “Product of the Year” award and logo have existed since 1987. The winning products are selected based on submissions from brands and distributors. After a preliminary selection based on objective criteria, the products are judged by interested consumers who have purchased the product.

They judge products on their innovative character, attractiveness, and their user-friendliness. The product is tested in the consumer’s living environment to truly test the ease of use and added value. The satisfaction survey is conducted by Treatz under the direction of the independent research agency Nielsen, which is also responsible for collating the results.

First for an electronic company:

In recent years, various products have received the title of “Product of the Year”, but these were mainly FMCGs. These are products that have a short shelf life and are traded quickly, such as facials and soft drinks. Meanwhile, for the time, a smartphone has won this award and proudly, it’s Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The Product of the Year award confirms the innovative and user-friendly character of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphone. Winners make a difference because their products best meet consumer needs. These needs are constantly changing and innovations must anticipate them.

Apple iOS 17 Standby

On June 5, 2023, Apple kicked off its annual Worldwide Developers Conference. At WWDC23, Apple unveiled the new iOS 17 operating system and started the developer preview, with the same Samsung should consider doing for the One UI 6 Beta debut.

Since iOS 17 isn’t a big upgrade over iOS 16, Apple managed to create the hype as always. It’s part of the company’s marketing strategy, keeping its fanbase together in support. Following the iOS 17 debut way, Samsung can also make the One UI 6 Beta unveiling a remarkable event for the Android world.

No doubt, Samsung holds an event dedicated to introducing new features of each new One UI version. However, it should also be done for the Beta activity as the tentative Samsung Developer Conference lands sometime in October each year.

Over the last few years, the South Korean tech giant started the One UI Beta Program through community posts, followed by a Newsroom article. The same thing Apple does at a dedicated event, showing off the cloned features as innovations.

Community and Newsroom articles are not a bad way to showcase new software, but a dedicated event, at least an online event should be organized to present new features and developments happening throughout the testing period, prior to the stable release.

Should Samsung unveil One UI 6 Beta like Apple’s WWDC23?
