According to a well-known tipster (IceUniverse), the Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone’s 10MP dual telephoto camera that features 3x and 10x optical zoom has some issues. When clicking photos between 3x to 10x zoom, the quality of the image gets reduced a lot.

Samsung’s 3x+10x solution has a flaw: at the focal length between 3x and 10x, 10MP 3x will inevitably be cropped, and the image quality will be greatly reduced. But for vivo with 64MP 3.5x
The picture quality at this focal length will be much better. Please see the comparison:— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) December 1, 2022
The tipster compares Galaxy S22 Ultra’s camera with Vivo X90 Pro+’s camera which offers 3.5X zoom with 64MP. The source has shared images clicked by both Samsung and Vivo smartphones, that too at different optical zooms for comparison. You see the images below.
To be mentioned, the Vivo X90 Pro Plus smartphone features a 64MP 3.5X periscope telephoto camera with f/3.4 aperture Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone has a dual 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x (f/2.4)and 10x (f/4.9) optical zoom.
The source admires the focal length of Vivo’s telephoto camera as it provides better picture quality than Samsung’s 3x+10x solution. Recently, a tipster also mentioned that Vivo and Oppo smartphones will rank will get first and second place in the 10x telephoto while Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will rank fourth.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra taking long time in 200MP camera mode [Video]

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra brings a serious camera upgrade over its predecessor. Replacing the 108MP primary sensor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 image sensor with next-gen technologies such as tetra2pixel for enhanced photography.
Yesterday, the company officially introduced the Galaxy S23 series, and the devices are now available for reviewers and authorized retailers. In a recent development, the YouTube channel Tip3X posted a video showcasing the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera test in 200MP resolution.

As you can see in the test video below, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is taking a long time in capturing the shot in 200MP mode. Not that all, when previewed, the image continues to process and takes a long delay to finalize the shot to be viewed by the user.
ISP update should bring improvements
Samsung’s new Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a new 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor that captures epic moments with incredible precision. The HP2 camera sensor uses pixel binning to support multiple levels of high-resolution processing at once.
200MP camera shot reportedly occupies 30MB-35MB storage space, which could also be a factor behind delayed processing. Still, the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses Samsung’s own-developed 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera, which is refined well with the software system.
Reliable tipster earlier revealed that Samsung will release a major firmware update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra as part of improving the ISP function. Since the update would be focussing on the image signal processor, we expect, the camera performance and shutter delay should be normalized.
