Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus Price

Samsung has raised the Galaxy S25 series production target for May 2025 amid US tariff uncertainties, TheElec reports.

According to the info, Samsung has ramped up this month’s Galaxy S25 series production target by 800,000 units; the decision comes ahead of the potential US tariffs to be imposed on imports to the United States.

The report suggests that the May production plan for the flagship Galaxy S25 series includes 1.3 million units of the standard model, 500,000 units of the Plus, and 1.5 million units of the Ultra, totaling 3.3 million units.

That said, the Korean tech giant has increased its production target by up to 1 million units over the March forecast, plus 800,000 units more than the early-to-mid-April forecast (2.5 million), with the Ultra model seeing the biggest hike.

The company has sold around 30 million Galaxy devices in the US last year. Galaxy S flagships are cash cows for Samsung in the US, over Galaxy A phones. This way, Samsung could safeguard these units from the potential US tariffs.

While the production has been hiked for May, it has been reduced for June and July. The launch of Galaxy S25 Edge is also considered a reason, which is coming next week, ahead of the new foldables in early July this year.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Earlier this month, Samsung started rolling out the May 2025 security update to the Galaxy S25 series, but it’s yet to release in Europe. Carrier-locked and unlocked models have received the firmware in the US over the past 7 days.

Samsung Galaxy S25 series users in Europe are waiting for the May 2025 security update. Earlier, it was rumored that the May release would be a significant one for the smartphones, but the company has postponed it to next month.

The May 2025 update focuses on system security improvements. The next firmware is expected to bring stability enhancements, camera UI tweaks, and a performance boost. The photography and videography functions will also elevate.

Users of the S25 series have started getting the May update in the US (carrier-locked and unlocked), Canada, and India. More markets are gradually joining the rollout pace, but such expansion hasn’t been recorded in Europe.

The Galaxy S25 series was launched with Android 15-based One UI 7. The new OS introduces smooth animations, a modern user interface, unified UI components, shapes, and dynamic colors, however, there’s room for improvement.

Apart from security enhancements, the Galaxy S25 series requires functional refinements. The software is all fine, but it lags behind the Galaxy S24’s One UI 7 update, which was rigorously tested by millions for over 4 months.

Samsung will improve the One UI on the Galaxy S25 series with incremental updates. The expansion would soon take place in Europe, opening up yet another opportunity for you to experience the Seamless Update solution.

One UI 8 animations give off strong ColorOS vibes [Watch]

App Opening Closing Animation

Samsung One UI 8 may introduce a major breakthrough to system animations. As the software’s development progresses, fresh findings reveal a next-gen animation engine, which gives us strong vibes of Oppo’s ColorOS.

Android skins like ColorOS and OxygenOS are always praised for their animation fluidity. It seems Samsung is all set to bring such fluid animations to Galaxy devices with the next big upgrade, Android 16-based One UI 8.

A video posted by leaker IceUniverse compares the smoothness and transition curves of app opening animations between One UI 8 and ColorOS 15.

In the X post, the tipster has also noted that the transition curves are “very close,” suggesting that One UI 8 and ColorOS 15 have similar animation styles.

To be noted, the ColorOS 15 is based on the Android 15 operating system and is in a Stable channel. Meanwhile, the One UI 8 is based on Android 16 OS, but is in an internal Beta stage, which is far from functional reliability and stability.

Since Chinese OEMs mastered system animations and peak fluidity, Samsung is finally adopting a similar approach. One UI 7 is a decent base to deploy fluid animations on Galaxy devices with the Android 16-based One UI 8 upgrade.

One UI 8 Beta is expected to start later this month or next month. The official reveal of the software is due for July with the next-gen foldables. There will be many more improvements throughout the Beta testing program.

Samsung cancels Galaxy S25 Edge launch event in New Delhi amid escalating India-Pak conflict

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Invitation

Given rising India-Pak tensions, Samsung has reportedly canceled the Galaxy S25 Edge launch event in New Delhi. The company hasn’t officially confirmed the event’s cancellation in the capital city, but reports say it’s called off.

Samsung has recently confirmed to launch its most anticipated smartphone on May 13. The S25 Edge wouldn’t be unveiled at an Unpacked event, but online conference. However, the company holds small-scale events in cities of key markets.

As the India-Pak conflict is escalating, Samsung has reportedly called off the Galaxy S25 Edge launch event in New Delhi. This event may be rescheduled or shifted to an all-virtual format after confirmation from the global headquarters.

Following the deadly Pahalgam attack last month, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting cross-border terrorist infrastructure. However, the condition is getting escalated, with recent Pak strikes aimed at Indian military sites.

This situation is not appropriate for holding an event or public gathering. Local authorities may also deny or revoke event permissions, so it’s good to make it all online. Meanwhile, the smartphone is indeed coming to the Indian market.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launch Teaser

Samsung Mobile US released a new Galaxy S25 Edge teaser, highlighting the phone’s lightweight design. You may have seen slogans like “the ‘wait’ is almost over,” but Samsung turned it to “the ‘weight’ is almost over.”

Galaxy S25 Edge will be unveiled on May 13 through an online event. It is the fourth model in the Galaxy S25 lineup, which was released earlier this year. Samsung aims to lead the market, riding on a new smartphone segment.

The new Samsung teaser hypes that the Galaxy S25 Edge is quite lightweight. While official information is yet to be known, earlier leaks point to around 160 grams in weight and a sleek 5.85mm body.

Recently, Samsung unveiled the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which toughens the Galaxy S25 Edge screen. The solution is exclusively crafted for Samsung’s slim phone that also boasts Heat Treatment technology.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be priced around $1100 in the US. It has mixed specs such as Plus-like screen, Ultra-like 200-megapixel camera, vanilla-like portable design profile, but the battery front is a bit disappointing.

The Korean tech giant has also started pre-reservations for the next Galaxy. You can reserve the device to score a free $50 Samsung Credit in the US. Interestingly, you don’t need to pay any pre-reserve amount, nor are you bound to buy the phone.
