Galaxy S23 may use Samsung-exclusive Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor [More details]

Tipster IceUniverse revealed that the mysterious edition of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which may be used in the upcoming Galaxy S23 series, is clocked at 3.36GHz, from the standard 3.2GHz. Not that all, but the GPU frequency is also increased from 680MHz to 719MHz.

Qualcomm officially introduced the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform that will debut with most of the 2023 flagship Android devices. Meanwhile, it turns out that Qualcomm may introduce another variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that could be exclusive to Samsung for the Galaxy S23.
According to the information, Qualcomm confirmed plenty of OEMs that will be releasing their Android devices with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Interestingly, the list of OEMs doesn’t include Samsung, anywhere, which sounds pretty mysterious.

Well, Samsung tipster IceUniverse spotted that Qualcomm mentioned that the model number of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset is SM8550-AB, while, the 8 Gen 1’s model number is SM8450. Since the company added “AB” suffix in the model number, there are high chances of SM8550-AC, or something else.
The US chip maker officially revealed that it signed a multi-year partnership with Samsung to bring Snapdragon chipsets worldwide. Therefore, Samsung may have demanded Qualcomm to supply a custom 8 Gen 2 version that could be exclusively available in the Galaxy S23 lineup.
Talking about Exynos, the Korean tech giant is still working on the Exynos 2300 flagship chipset on the 5nm process technology. It’s worth mentioning that the company’s next flagship product will be used in a mid-range Galaxy smartphone and the S23 series will use Snapdragon chip globally.
Rumors aside, time will tell the reality itself! Meanwhile, the US chip giant revealed (via XDA) that the following companies will be launching Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered devices: Redmagic, Honor, ZTE, Xiaomi, Meizu, Vivo, Sony, Redmi, OPPO, nubia, Motorola, OnePlus, Sharp, Asus, and iQOO.

Camer Shift Feature

The latest update includes a simpler and user-friendly design. Instead of navigating through three separate menus, you can now access everything from a single menu.
With improved recognition capabilities, the Camera Shift feature can now better identify children, upper body shots, and group photos. You can also apply special effects to specific people in group images, giving you more creative control.
Moreover, the update also includes a Colorization feature that adds color to black and white images and a Motion Clipper feature to allow you to create GIFs from Motion Photos.

How to use One UI 6.1 Camera Shift feature on your Samsung Galaxy
Along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G, Samsung has officially ended software update support for two more Galaxy devices – the Galaxy M51 phone and Galaxy Tab A7 tablet. This means that these devices will no longer receive any software updates.
Both the Samsung Galaxy M51 and Galaxy Tab A7 were launched in 2020 and came pre-installed with Android 10. They received updates up to Android 12, and are not eligible for more Android updates. Now, these devices have completed their software update cycle.

Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is a well-loved smartphone in the Galaxy A series that has now shifted from a monthly to a quarterly update plan. This means that users of this device will now receive software updates every three months instead of every month.
The Korean tech giant has recently announced its revised update schedule for its Galaxy devices, which places the Galaxy A52s 5G in the Quarterly update category.
Launched in 2021, the Galaxy A52s 5G came with Android 11 pre-installed. Since then, it has received three major Android updates and runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.
