Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 October 2022 update brings under-the-hood changes in the US

Amid October 2022 patch distribution, Samsung has now released the first firmware update to the Galaxy Watch 4 series in the US, post-One UI Watch 4.5 version. The major Wear OS 3.5 update arrived earlier last month with additional new features and improvements, while the latest one brings under-the-hood changes.

The October 2022 update for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 brings improvements to the system’s stability and reliability. Moreover, the changelog mentions that the update applies “stabilization codes for watch operation” for enhanced user experiences.

Initially, the new Galaxy Watch 4 series October 2022 update started to release in South Korea, which is now expanded to the United States too. As the changelog doesn’t mention any notable things to discuss, Samsung may have included optimizations for software and functions, as the security patch level remains August 2022.

How to update

Galaxy smartwatch owners can easily download and install new firmware updates manually. Just head towards the Galaxy Wearable app on your paired Galaxy phones, then jump to the Watch settings >> Watch software update option. Now, hit Watch software update on the Home tab followed by Download and install.

Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, the South Korean tech giant introduced the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro smartwatches that come pre-loaded with the latest Wear OS 3.5-based One UI Watch 4.5. Google unveiled its own Pixel Watch but it can’t get the Wear OS crown from Samsung!
