Last week, Samsung seeded the Android security patches dated July 2022 for various Galaxy devices including the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra. Now, the latest July 2022 security update is expanding for Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphone users in more countries, besides Europe.

According to the information, Samsung started releasing the latest July 2022 security patch update to the Galaxy S20 series devices in Brazil. The update comes with PDA build versions: G980FXXSEFVG1, G985FXXSEFVG1, and G986BXXSEFVG1 for the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra, respectively.

One UI 5 Beta

The consumers of the Galaxy S20 series won’t like this update as they are eagerly waiting to grab the Android 13-based One UI 5.0, or hear something about the One UI Beta program, at least. Well, the Galaxy S22 series will be the initial candidates for the One UI 5 Beta program.

What’s new with July update

Coming back, the July 2022 security patch brings fixes for over 50 CVEs from Google alongside additional SVEs from Samsung. Besides new security patches, the release might be included system stability improvements and new version updates for some stock apps for enhanced user experience.

Samsung has acknowledged the Quick Panel issue in its latest One UI 6.1 update that is affecting users. The issue unexpectedly activates the quick panel when users interact with notifications or try to access detailed views. This problem has been a cause of inconvenience for many Galaxy users.

Samsung has pushed an April 2024 security update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones in Korea. This update enhances system security and stability as well as adds new features for a better user experience.

April 2024 security update for the Galaxy S22 series in Korea brings Mobile ID support for the Samsung Wallet app. Through this update, users can save and use their government-issued mobile driver’s license and national veterans registration card on their phones.

However, only IC cards with a mobile ID icon can be added. Users can use it anywhere just like your real ID. In addition, the update also applies the Google security patch to enhance the performance

  • Galaxy S22 Plus – S906NKSU3DXD3
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra – S908NKSU3DXD3

Users will have to download a 420MB package to install the update. To install the update, need to navigate to Settings >> Software Updates >> Download and install.
