Samsung rolls out new update for Galaxy Watch 5, 5 Pro, and FE

Samsung has released a new update for the Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and Galaxy Watch FE in Europe. The fresh update installs the March 2024 security patch to improve system security and stability.
The fresh update for the Bluetooth variants of the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro comes with firmware version ending with CYCD. On the other hand, the update arrives on Galaxy Watch FE with firmware version ending with BYCD.
Along with the new security patch, the update also brings some improvements to the overall stability of the watches. Samsung hasn’t shared many details on exactly what’s improved, but it’s clear that the update is meant to make the watches work better and more securely.
At the moment, the update is available now for Bluetooth models of the Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, and Watch FE. Galaxy A56 5G’s May 2025 update widens rollout, adds Gemini Side Button feature

Samsung has expanded the May 2025 security update for the Galaxy A56 to more countries, including India. Previously, the update was only available for users in South Korea, but now more Galaxy A56 users can take advantage of new features.
May 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy A56 can be identified by the One UI build version A566EXXU3AYDK in India. The main highlight of this update is Google Gemini side button support.
The fresh update brings the latest Android security patch to improve system security and stability. Alongside security improvements, this update introduces new features that enhance the overall user experience, particularly through deeper integration with Google Gemini.
Now, you have a new way to launch Gemini. Users can now press and hold the Side button to open the assistant, offering a faster and more convenient option compared to swiping from the screen corner. This setting can be customized in the phone’s Settings menu if users want the button to do something else.
With this update, Google Gemini is also more closely integrated with Samsung’s stock apps like Calendar, Notes, Reminder, and Clock. Users can now complete multiple tasks using one simple command.
For example, you can ask Gemini to find a YouTube video and save the link in Samsung Notes. Also, you can ask it to look up your favorite team’s schedule and add the matches to your calendar.
To install the latest update, Galaxy A56 users can go to Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install. The company will gradually make it available to all models.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 smartphones are getting the May 2025 security update with One UI build versions F956NKSS2BYDD and F741NKSS2BYDD, respectively. It is an initial rollout, so it may take some hours or days to reach all models.
Following One UI 7 resumes with the April patch, this is the first software update Samsung is rolling out for Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 users. This new software makes the device’s features more stable and secure.
May 2025 security patch brings important fixes to improve the safety of Galaxy devices. The update addresses 58 high-level security issues found by Google that affect all Android phones. Samsung Galaxy S24 gets May 2025 patch – First update after One UI 7 (Android 15)

The May 2025 security update is starting to roll out to the Galaxy S24 series. It’s the first official firmware update after Samsung deployed the Stable One UI 7. Global users, including in the US, should expect the OTA within a week.
Samsung’s BYDF update installs the latest May 2025 security patches on Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra. Unlike the S25 series, it’s not a Seamless Update, so you will have to face a little more downtime during installation.
The update is available at different carriers in South Korea. A notification for the OTA would appear on your device, while you can manually speed up the process by fetching the update through the Software update section under Settings.
Firmware versions:
- Galaxy S24 – S921NKSS4BYDF
- S24 Plus – S926NKSS4BYDF
- S24 Ultra – S928NKSS4BYDF
One UI 7-based security patch
The changelog suggests the release focuses on security improvements. Additional enhancements for system stability and app functioning are included. But what makes it more meaningful is its arrival after the recent major upgrade.
Last month, Samsung concluded the Beta Program and released the Stable One UI 7 update. The major OTA has reportedly caused excessive battery drain problems. Some users also found “very minor” flaws across the operating system.
The May 2025 software update should address the errors causing excessive battery consumption. System animations and functional stability should also be enhanced to deliver a better overall user experience.
May patch includes fixes for 58 CVEs from Google and 20 from Samsung.
