With May 2022 security patch update, Samsung is releasing various Galaxy S22 camera features to Galaxy S21 smartphones. The update is already live in many countries and now, it is released for the unlocked models in the United States.
First of all, the Samsung Galaxy S21 May 2022 update improves the security and stability of your phone. In addition, it upgrades three stock apps including Samsung Notes, Samsung TV Plus, and Calculator.

The changelog for the update further mentions five new camera features that are inspired by Galaxy S22 series smartphones. These include the Night portrait mode that allows you to capture bright portraits in low-light environments.

It also carries an Improved/supported auto framing function, Improved video call effect, Support for auto framing effects, and Improved App Store Camera app quality such as Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
Further, the update comes with One UI build version G991U1EU5CVDC, G996U1EU5CVDC, and G998U1EU5CVDC for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones respectively. And, to get it to your phone, you will have to download and install the package of around 863GB.
If you are an unlocked Galaxy S21, S21+, or S21 Ultra user in the US, you can get access to the whole new features by navigating Settings >> Software update >> Download and install and then downloading and installing the update.
