Carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, Fold 3 grabbing April 2022 security update in the US

Samsung has kicked off a new software update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone users that primarily installs the April 2022 Android security patch for system security and stability enhancements.

The purpose of the update is to protect your phone from bugs and viruses as well as boost its performance. Although there are no major changes and new features have been mentioned in the changelog, you might notice some minor improvements after installing the update.

On the other side, the released Samsung’s April 2022 security patch details mention fixes for a total of 88 vulnerabilities and exploits. These include 27 high and 18 moderate levels of CVEs fixes from Samsung and Google.

To be mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 April 2022 security update is currently released for the T-mobile’s network US users and it can be identified via the One UI build version F926USQS1CVCC.

Whereas, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 April 2022 security update comes with firmware version F916USQS2GVC8. This update was also released for T-Mobile and Sprint-locked users in the United States.

How to download manually:

To download the April 2022 update, navigate to the Settings of your phone. Now click on Software update and tap Download and install. Your device will check for available updates and if available, click Download now.

After successful download, choose Install now or Schedule install according to your preferences. Once, installed the phone will reboot and start initial apps optimizations.
