Samsung to beat iPhone A-Series chips with transitioned TSMC fabrication

Samsung smartphone chief Roh Tae-moon told at the company town hall meeting on the 7th of April, 2022 that “we will make an AP unique to the Galaxy”. Pushing toward the custom silicon chips Samsung is confident that not by simply customizing the chip but by putting the performance as its major priority it can beat Apple.

According to a MacRumors report, the news circulated all around that Samsung and Oppo are planning to transition to a custom silicon chip to rival Apple A-series chips in the iPhone.

Oppo is also planning to launch its custom application processor manufactured with TSMC’s 6nm process, in 2023. Followed by integrating an AP and a Modem further with a 4nm process in 2024.

These chips may be comparable to the leading and advanced chip producers Qualcomm and Mediatek. Manufacturing these advanced new chips they have to fight the GPS issues and the poor thermal performance.

Apple

If Samsung wants to be the world leader in chip manufacturing it needs to do its own custom optimizations. The company needs to develop new techniques for creating minimalistic substrates which consume less power and work effectively on GPS, GOS, and APs in accordance with users’ usage limits.

On the other side, Xiaomi is also pledging a war of life and death against Apple and this could be seen by the efforts they are putting into manufacturing world-class and premium smartphones such as Xiaomi 11i 5G and 11i HyperCharge 5G.

However, this could be false that Samsung is competing with Apple because Samsung’s legacy is a little different from that of Apple. It cares for the people and cares for the world, as they are making affordable as well as premium smartphones for each and every pocket, even down the line. Though Apple also has its own premium customer base.

People value performance along with new, useful, and tech-savvy features. However, Cost remains a major concern.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra is coming, but there’s bad news

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE

The existence of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra was spotted by AndroidAuthority. This development further solidifies Samsung’s plan to bring the first Ultra foldable smartphone to the market this year. Compared to the standard model, Fold 6 Ultra would have better specs.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will launch in Summer 2024, the report says. Starting with the Galaxy S20 series, the company debuted its first Ultra model in its flagship lineup. Since then, the Galaxy S series has continued the strategy, with the latest model being the S24 Ultra.

AndroidHeadlines highlight that Samsung is unlikely to launch Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra outside Korea. The outlet has spotted SM-F958N in their database, confirming the existence of a Korean model. As there’s no Global or US-specific model appeared, Ultra may be Korea-exclusive.

Specs of Samsung’s Fold 6 Ultra haven’t surfaced yet, making it hard to determine the difference with the Standard variant. However, the Z Fold 6 is unlikely to boast an upgraded camera module, battery capacity, and faster charging. Hence, the Ultra would come out with some upgrades in these aspects.
