Samsung releases One UI 4.1 (Android 12) update for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US

Samsung is rolling out the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update for carrier-locked Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone users in the US. This update is currently released on T-Mobile’s network, however, other carrier-locked models will soon get it.

This update comes with a bunch of new features, optimizations, and improvements over the previous version. Additionally, it installs the March 2022 Android security patch for better system security and device performance enhancements.

According to the changelog, Samsung Galaxy S20 FE One UI 4.1 update brings Google Duo Live Sharing that lets you share your screen with people you are far away from, a Grammarly-powered keyboard that ensures that you don’t make any mistakes while typing, the enhanced Color palette that customizes your phone with same theme everywhere.

Furthermore, the built-in Gallery app allows you to free up storage space by converting motion photos into still images. It also has new editing tools including a Reflection eraser and Shadow eraser. While the built-in camera app has Galaxy S22-inspired Night portrait mode, Pet recognition, and Light position editing.

Moving on, the ability to turn off Game Optimization Service, customizable RAM Plus, Enhanced Quick Share, better low-light portrait images, better privacy, improved Bixby Routines, and more are also among the main highlights of the update.

How to download manually:

Before you start the downloading process, make sure that you backup your important data, so you won’t lose any important files. Although the upgrade procedure won’t replace or remove any of the corresponding data from your smartphone, it’s recommended to do so for extra safety measures.

You can download the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE One UI 4.1 update by visiting the Settings > from here tapping on System updates > and then clicking on Download and install. Wait for the phone to check for the available software rollout and fetch it on your smartphone.

Samsung has started the July 2024 security update for the Galaxy A53 5G users. The update installs the latest Android security patch to improve system security and stability. The update is rolling out for locked, unlocked, and international variants of the smartphone.

Users of the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G smartphone can verify the July 2024 security update through the One UI build versions mentioned below.

  • Carrier Locked – A536USQSBEXG4
  • Carrier Unlocked – A536USQSBEXG4
  • International – A536EXXSBEXF3

July 2024 security patch helps protect user data and improve the overall performance and security of the device. It makes your Galaxy A53 device more stable, secure, and reliable.

Notably, this update addresses over 55 issues including 4 critical and 21 high-level vulnerabilities in Android, although 2 are irrelevant to Samsung devices. In addition, Samsung has fixed 33 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) to strengthen device security further.

Users can check this update through their device Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install. Samsung is expanding the July 2024 security update for Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A52s smartphones in more countries. This update fixes several issues to make your Galaxy smartphone more secure, reliable, and stable.

Talking about the Galaxy A54, the July 2024 security update is already available in Korea and the company is now making it available in the US on Trackfone network carrier. Users are receiving this update with One UI build version S546VLUDS9CXG2 and 266.37MB  software package.

On the other side, Samsung Galaxy A52 smartphone users are getting a fresh security patch with PDA version A528BXXS9GXF8 in Latin America. Users will have to download around 320MB package to install the update.

This update will bring improved functions to your Galaxy device, mainly related to One UI Home, System UI, and Secure Folder, further improving device security.

Both devices are getting this new update based on Android 14 and One UI 6.1. Samsung will expand the July 2024 security update to more Galaxy A52s and Galaxy A54 users in the coming days or weeks.

To install the update, users should navigate to the Software Update section found within the device’s Settings. They can select ‘Download and install’ from there to initiate the update process.
