Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 to crush competition in foldable thinness

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 may break foldable thinness records, a new leak suggests. The company is preparing to introduce the next-gen foldable phones in July, while new leaks give us a glimpse at what’s coming this year.

According to TechManiacs, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 may be just 8.2mm thick. The report doesn’t specify the unfolded thickness, which was rumored to be nearly 4.5mm in a handful of leaks and reports over the past few weeks.

With this striking dimension, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 is going to crush the foldable thinness competition. Oppo Find N5 is 8.9mm thin and leads the competition in terms of sleekness, but not much time is left for the device to keep the crown.

Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. Although it was a limited release, the device has significantly helped the company to experiment with a slimmer design, ultimately paving the way for mainstream models.

Apart from thinness, the Galaxy Z Fold7 may get slightly larger displays. The device is likely to boast an 8-inch inner and a 6.5-inch cover screen. To recall, the Fold6 has a 7.6-inch main and 6.3-inch outer display panel.

Samsung may also bring a camera upgrade to its upcoming foldable. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is said to come with a 200-megapixel primary camera. The phone may retain the 10-megapixel 3x telephoto and 12-megapixel ultrawide sensors.

The information comes from a credible source but remains unofficial. Samsung will officially reveal the devices in July this year. So for now, you all incredible Samsung fans should take this information with a pinch of salt.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra Comparison

Samsung’s One UI 7 update, rolling out this month, brings new features to Galaxy devices. However, Galaxy S24 and S25 users report significant battery drain issues, raising concerns about the update’s impact on performance.

April 2025 update brings smoother animations, enhanced AI tools, and improved security to Galaxy devices. While these changes aimed to elevate user experience, some Galaxy S24 Ultra and S25 Ultra owners noticed a sharp decline in battery life.

Robin noticed that the battery’s performance has sharply declined on his S25 Ultra after the April 2025 update. He figured out a battery life decline of approximately 20%, leading him to seek feedback on X to verify the difference.

Surprisingly, this sentiment echoes across social platforms, with users frustrated by the reduced performance.

A Galaxy S24 Ultra owner commented, “Before, I charged once per day. Now I’m charging two to three times per day”. Another Galaxy S24 user noted that while design and AI improved, battery life suffered significantly.

Similar complaints surfaced from other users. One S24 user stated, “After the One UI 7.0 update, the battery drains faster”. It seems the Galaxy S24 FE is also affected by a possible bug, with the user reporting “battery drains fast after the April update”.
