One UI 4.0 Home Up

Samsung’s Good Lock suite along with its several modules helps Galaxy users to add more customization to their Samsung Galaxy phones. This suite allows you to customize everything from your lock screen and clock face to your multi-window functionality on the home screen.

Back in November 2021, Samsung tried to add a vertical app drawer in a Good Lock, but it was only compatible with only One UI 3.0. And now with Good Lock 2022 update, Samsung has added new changes that allow you to use it in One UI 4.1.

It is a work in progress, and it looks like to see some changes. An app can swipe to open the drawer, forcing you to use the return gesture you need to return your home screen so you can swipe to remove it from below.

Samsung revamps One Hand Operation + in One UI 8 with Smart Gestures, Custom Handles

Samsung drops a new One Hand Operation + plugin update for the Galaxy S25 series running One UI 8. The new release adds two handy new features, aimed at simplifying in-app controls and even smarter gestures.

The new One Hand Operation + update is currently available for Galaxy S25 phones running One UI 8, as spotted by Theordysm. Samsung seems to be testing new app features apart from the One UI software on Galaxy devices.

Custom Handles

Good Lock’s One Hand Operation + has added dedicated in-app buttons for easier handle customization. Now, you get separate buttons for “Add Handles” and “Delete Handles” – both aimed at making tweaks easier than ever.

This move aligns with a previous Good Lock update, which categorized plugins according to their respective functionality. Now with Add and Delete buttons, it’s easier to set and control custom handles on your Galaxy devices.

Smart Gestures

System back gesture is a newly added toggle within Samsung’s new One Hand Operation + app version. When enabled, the plugin will allow you to use the system back navigation gesture outside the handle area.

This addition hints at a harmonious experience with OS-gestures and plugin gestures. One UI 8 focuses on refining the entire functionality, and apps are getting updated in a similar direction, giving us a glimpse of compelling experiences.

Note that sideloading the APK could activate some upcoming features on One UI 7 devices too. As the testing is still underway on a Beta software, you may face common issues like crashing or unusual interruptions while using it.

Samsung is swiftly working in multiple directions before unveiling the One UI 8 next month. Just a few hours back, Google released the Stable Android 16 update and teased some new features that will land on Galaxies with One UI 8.

One UI 8 could bring Landscape mode support to Home Up’s DIY Home

Samsung One UI 7 Home Up app features

With One UI 7, Samsung added several cool new features to its Good Lock apps. One of the most impressive features is DIY Home, which is part of the Home Up app. Now, Samsung is planning to enhance the DIY Home in the upcoming One UI 8 update.

The DIY Home Screen feature gives you the freedom to design your phone’s home screen exactly how you want it. You can add apps, widgets, and folders, then move them around and change their sizes to match your style.

But in One UI 7, DIY Home only works when your phone is in portrait mode. If you turn on auto-rotate for your home screen and then try to use DIY Home, it won’t work because DIY Home doesn’t support landscape mode yet.

To address this, Samsung is currently reviewing support for DIY Home landscape mode for the next OS update. This means you might be able to enjoy DIY Home functions in landscape mode in One UI 8.

A Samsung community moderator has recently confirmed this while replying to users about the auto-rotate problem in DIY Home. So, it looks like Samsung plans to bring DIY Home Landscape mode support with One UI 8.

Aside from this, Samsung added two new features to DIY Home for One UI 7 users. These are Animate Overlapping Items and Align Guide Line. These features help you make your home screen look even better and easier to organize.

More new features are expected to come soon, so keep an eye out for updates and announcements from Samsung.

This new update doesn’t bring any new features, but it does include important bug fixes and stability improvements. It’s all about making the app smoother, more reliable, and ready to support your everyday automations without issues.

Routines+ is a helpful tool for Galaxy users who want to automate actions on their phones. It provides advanced features to Modes and Routines so you can create more powerful routines.

With version 1.0.68, Samsung has focused on fixing background issues of the Routines + app that might have caused crashes or slowdowns in some cases. These bug fixes keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and make the app more stable.

One UI 7 update makes it easier to set up Modes and Routines with new templates. These templates use things like the weather or time of day to help you quickly create routines. You can use the templates as they are or change them to fit what you need.

You can now include more app data in your routines, like information from your Watch, Calendar, or Samsung Notes. This means you have more options when setting up what triggers a routine and what actions it performs.

Samsung Home Up One UI 7 support

Samsung has released a new update for its Home Up app with version 16.0.00.90 for One UI 7 devices. This update comes with a few helpful changes for users with Galaxy Z Fold phones and Samsung tablets.

For users of the Galaxy Z Fold, the update now supports the DIY Home feature when cover screen mirroring is turned on. This means you can now customize your home screen layout even when your Fold’s outer screen is showing the same view as the main screen.

For tablet users, Samsung has removed the “Show Favorites” setting from the menu. While Samsung hasn’t explained why, this may be done to keep things simpler and easier to use on tablets.

This update is only available for devices running Android 15 with One UI 7. Make sure your Galaxy Z Fold phone or Galaxy tablet has the latest software version to install the new update of Home Up.

Samsung Home Up One UI 7

Previously, the Samsung Home Up update fixed an issue with the floating taskbar that some users were facing. The bug caused the taskbar to not show up or work correctly. With that update, the taskbar started working as expected. Now, the new update improves the app to provide a better experience.

Samsung Home Up 16.0.00.90 update is rolling out now, so if you have a supported device, you can update it today and enjoy the new features. To get the update, open the Galaxy Store, tap on the Menu, and go to Updates. You can also open the Good Lock app, where Home Up is listed, and update it from there.
