Samsung just seeded yet another software update with January 2022 patch for the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+ smartphone users. The update rollout is initially happening in a few European countries, mainly in Germany with firmware build version ending GVA4.

According to the information, the new software update for the Galaxy S10 series devices installs the most up-to-date security patch dated January 01, 2022. In addition to the security improvements, this OTA brings enhancements to system functions and applications for a better user experience.

If you haven’t received the January 2022 security update notification on your Samsung Galaxy S10 series device, try checking for the updates manually by steering to your phone’s Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.

As per the info shared in the security bulletin, the January 2022 One UI patch brings fixes for different categories of issues and exploits including 2 critical, 36 high, and 5 moderate for better device stability. At the same time, 9 CVEs are not applicable on Samsung devices.

Exynos Samsung Galaxy 20 FE May 2022 update improves the security and stability of the system. It also improves some minor functionalities of your phone in order to enrich the overall device performance and provide users with seamless performance.

Samsung’s May 2022 patch details also mention fixes for various privacy and security-related bugs and issues. These vulnerabilities include 7 Critical, 23 High, and 3 Moderate levels of CVEs from Google and Samsung, which are related to the Weather app, Galaxy Themes, Setup Wizard, and others.

How to install?

If you are an Exynos Galaxy S20 FE user, you can check the fresh firmware update by navigating Settings >> Software update >> Download and install. And, to download it, click on the Download button and then install the update to get access to the new optimizations.

When will Samsung Galaxy S20 FE get Android 13 One UI 5.0 update?

We don’t have any Android 13 upgrade rollout plan or roadmap for Samsung devices at this moment, meanwhile, the company might begin One UI 5.0 beta testing in July, starting with the Galaxy S22 series and other flagships.

Last August, Samsung launched its last Note lineup, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. At the Unpacked event, the company announced that all the Galaxy flagships launched with Android 9 or later will get three years of Android upgrade support!

Debuted with Android 10-based One UI 2.5, the Galaxy Note 20 range entered the Android 11/One UI 3 beta trial last October. In December 2020, Samsung released the stable One UI version 3.0 via a software update, followed by One UI 3.1 in February 2021.

Although the Galaxy Note 20 series received its first Android OS upgrade in the form of Android 11, it is officially confirmed to get two more major updates up to Android 13. And Samsung also committed to delivering four years of regular security updates from the date of the device’s initial release.
