Verizon started rolling out a new software update to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e devices in the US. It comes with version number: T727VVRU2DUE2 and includes the newer May 2021 security patch, including fixes for dozens of CVEs from Google and Samsung.

It’s not just a minor security patch update as it includes several features and major improvements along with the Android 11-based One UI version 3.1. However, the Galaxy Tab S5e already received this major update in the global market, but the carrier locked devices grabbing it a bit late.

Debuted back in September last year, Google’s Android 11 operating system brings many new functionalities including Control Panel, Bubbles, Categorized Notifications, better privacy control, in-built screen recorder, and notification history as well as major system optimizations.

Aside from this, this OTA also includes Samsung One UI version 3.1, which was launched back in January 2021 alongside the Galaxy S21 series. The main features of this One UI version are Eye Comfort Shield, Samsung Free, Object Eraser, Private Share, Buds Auto-Switching, the ability to remove the location data of images before sharing, major UI changes, and better system performance.

On the other hand, the new Galaxy Tab S5e firmware update carries all the user interface changes of the One UI 3.0 including a redesigned Home screen, Quick panel, App drawer, Lock screen, and Settings menu. [One UI 3.0 Changelog]
