Meet new type of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold phone with double hinge, S Pen support!
A couple of days ago, Samsung Display revealed different types of innovative foldable displays including – S-foldable, Slidable, 17-inch folding tablet, and invisible selfie Camera screen (Under Panel Camera). At the same time, it is rapidly working to introduce the successors of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip this summer.
Meanwhile, it looks like the South Korean giant has a tablet smartphone, featuring a double folding line (hinge), which means when folded it will be twice as thick as in unfolded position compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. However, an additional advantage of this design is that space has also been made for the S Pen.
Last November, Samsung filed a patent with the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO), which entitled “Method and device for providing a user interface in an electronic device having foldable display”. Though this patent was published on May 21, 2021, that shows detail about the possibilities of a multi-foldable device.
By collecting information from multiple patent applications, LetsGoDigital brought us a set of high-resolution renders of this future folding smartphone that could be called “Galaxy Z Fold Tab”. Once the device is folded, the UI will be adapted accordingly.
Adding to this, it is possible to implement the S Pen at the rear, between the two display parts when folded. When unfolded, it’s also likely to attach the S Pen to the side of the device thanks to a magnet. Samsung has invested a lot of time and money in its multifunctional S Pen in recent years.
