Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 to feature splash resistance, not IP rating

Just recently, a report surfaced online claiming the color options of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 2/3. And now a rumor suggests that the next Galaxy Z Fold will feature protection against elements.

According to the info, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will become the first folding smartphone offering from Samsung to come with splash resistance. However, it will not have an IP rating that ensures dust and water resistance.

Splash resistance means it will boost the surviving capabilities of the devive against liquids. Furthermore, bringing the splash resistance to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 reveals the company’s manufacturing strategy regarding its future foldables.

It is worth noting that having splash resistance functionality doesn’t allow you to put your phone into the water, it can damage the device because the splash resistance only protects the phones from minor external liquid events.

Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy S21 FE:

Other than this, the tipster also revealed that the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 will run Wear OS instead of Samsung’s own Tizen OS. And, the production of the affordable version of the Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy S21 FE will start in a couple of weeks.

Lastly, there’s no information available for the actual table of content of the event and we’ll get more on this soon. Also, Samsung has not confirmed its plans for the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Watch 4, and S21 FE so it is recommended to take this information as a pinch of salt for now.

Stay tuned to get further development on this story.
