Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with S Pen launched: Samsung’s best try to gain smartphone sales
Samsung has launched the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It is designed for users who need top technology to keep in touch with the most important people and things. It introduces an all-new, iconic Contour Cut Camera housing that seamlessly blends into the device’s metal frame for a sleek, yet striking, aesthetic.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is available in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver and is fully coated with a luxurious matte finish for a refined and timeless appearance. The Galaxy S21 Ultra also comes in three unique colors – Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy, and Phantom Brown, and offers superior durability through the toughest Gorilla Glass Victus.

The S21 Ultra is the largest member of the Galaxy S21 series equipped with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display. For the first time, users no longer need to choose between the 120Hz refresh rate of the S21 Ultra and the smoothness of the Quad HD+ display.
The refresh rate of the screen can adjust the content you are watching from 10Hz to 120Hz to ensure that you can not only enjoy excellent images but also have enough features to extend battery life.
Compared with the Galaxy S20, the image brightness of the S21 Ultra is increased by 25%, with a peak brightness of 1,500nits, which is the brightest on the Galaxy smartphone. Contrast is increased by 50%, providing clear and immersive images even outdoors. Like Galaxy S21 and S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra also has Eye Comfort Shield, which can help reduce eye strain.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra is equipped with the most advanced professional-grade camera system, so you can capture stunning, studio-quality photos under various lighting and settings, or use the new AI-based feature toolbox and editing enhancements for every shot.
It has quad rear cameras (ultra-wide, wide-angle, and dual telephoto lenses), with an advanced 108MP Pro sensor, from which you can capture 12-bit HDR photos with 64 times richer color data and more than three times wider dynamic range.
For the first time on a Galaxy smartphone, you can shoot in 4K at 60fps on all lenses (including the front and rear four lenses), so that you can switch to different perspectives with the same quality. Similarly, with the 12-bit RAW file option, you will not miss any details when editing photos.
When zooming in on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, you don’t have to worry about clarity. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with S Pen:
From drawing to taking notes to editing photos and signing documents, you can now unlock the S Pen feature on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. You can use an existing S Pen from a Galaxy Note or Galaxy Tab or an S Pen purchased separately with a compatible case.
Wi-Fi 6E and 5G
To get a better and faster connection, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the first smartphones to support Wi-Fi 6E. You will be able to enjoy more bandwidth and faster Internet connection so that you can stream and share content in a blink of an eye. With ultra-fast, ultra-low latency 5G, the S21 can provide ultra-fast video downloads, smooth video conferencing, and streaming.
UWB and Bluetooth
Thanks to the ultra-wideband function (UWB) embedded in the Galaxy S21 Ultra and S21 +, you can pull the key to unlock compatible car doors automatically using your Galaxy S21 device. With UWB-enabled Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy S21 +, you can use the AR Finder to search with virtual messages to tell other Galaxy smartphone users that you need help finding lost items.
With SmartThings on Android Auto, you can also use the Galaxy S21 series to control smart devices from car to home. By connecting the Galaxy S21 to a car compatible with Android Auto, you can turn on the porch light from your home or even raise the thermostat’s temperature before going home.
Also, the Galaxy S21 Ultra supports dual-Bluetooth to help your connected device (such as the Galaxy Buds Pro) consume less energy through a stable connection.
Samsung is reviewing LockStar for Galaxy S24 AOD customization. The Korean community’s moderator confirmed that the latest flagship phones don’t support personalization of the always-on-display using Good Lock’s LockStar module.
Thanks to the new screens, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series brings an iPhone-like Always On Display feature. However, the company seemingly missed bounding it with Good Lock for customization. As a result, users are facing issues tweaking it through LockStar.
However, the latest input confirms that Samsung is considering LockStar support for Galaxy S24 AOD. This will allow users to renovate the always-on-display functionality on their device in various aspects including removal of certain elements.
LockStar doesn’t support AOD customization in the Galaxy S24 series. While an internal review is underway, a possible release may happen shortly. Meanwhile, the moderator hasn’t shared any specific timeline regarding the availability of the support.
Good Lock’s LockStar is one of the most popular plugins for Galaxy customization. Not only the lock screen, the LockStar also lets users tweak the AOD function. The suite will likely add support for the newly released phones well before July Unpacked.

Huawei is making a stunning comeback in its home ground. The company scored a 70% year-on-year growth in its smartphone sales in China in the first quarter. At the same time, sales of Apple dropped by over 19%, reports Counterpoint Research.
The report highlights that the Chinese phone maker is set to outpace Apple in China. As Apple is already facing heat, it’s alarming for all smartphone vendors including Samsung. After Apple, Huawei’s next target will be Samsung which leads the Global market.
Huawei, which was at 9.3% in the first quarter of 2023, jumped to 15.5% in Q1 this year. Apple led the Chinese market in 1Q23 with approximately 20% market share slipped to 15.7% in the first quarter of this year, dropping to the third spot in China.
Earlier, IDC pointed out that Apple is facing a market decline as it lost momentum in China. The local government’s push for local vendors is also helping Huawei to eat Apple’s market. Well, Vivo and Honor were the top two brands by market share.
“Apple’s sales were subdued during the quarter as Huawei’s comeback has directly impacted Apple in the premium segment,” said Ivan Lam, senior research analyst at Counterpoint.

Apart from mobile, Samsung is also focusing on the PC market. The company has recently launched its new all-in-one PC “All-in-One Pro.” At the event, the VP of Intel Korea Samsung Business Division announced the intention to work with Samsung for the AI PCs market.
Galaxy AI is a hit, helping Samsung sell the Galaxy S24 series worldwide. The Korean tech giant is also bringing AI capabilities to its laptop line. Compared to smartphones, laptops, and PCs would offer way better AI features and abilities to bolster productivity.
Samsung’s All-in-One Pro features Intel’s Core Ultra AI PC processor CPU. Thanks to Intel’s external GPU, Arc, graphics performance in the all-in-one PC has also improved twofold compared to the previous generation, and power efficiency has been improved by 25%.
“In this trend where AI is present everywhere, the PC is the product that we experience directly and use for production activities,” stated Bae Tae-won.
As far as AI features are concerned, Intel is committed to offering a complimentary “AI Creator App Package” that consists of the Luminar Neo photo editing software named “Affinity” as well as the Magix video editing application “Vegas.”
Apart from Intel, Samsung also partnered with Microsoft to bring a dedicated Copilot key to the wireless keyboard of the All-in-One Pro PC. Such kind of collaborations offer deeply enhanced user experience as accessing AI-powered Copilot is just a keypress away from you.
