Updates
Samsung ends software support for two Galaxy phones
Samsung has officially updated its security maintenance schedule for November 2026, marking the end of software support for two budget-friendly phones.
Both the Galaxy A04e and Galaxy M04, which were previously covered under Samsung’s Quarterly Security Updates schedule, have been completely removed from the list. This indicates that both devices have officially reached their End of Life (EOL) status regarding official software maintenance.
In the previous update schedule released in October 2026, both entry-level smartphones were actively receiving quarterly security maintenance patches. However, in the updated November 2026 security plan, Samsung revised its support tier structure, dropping these models entirely:
- Galaxy A04e: Dropped from Quarterly Security Updates (Support ended)
- Galaxy M04: Dropped from Quarterly Security Updates (Support ended)
Neither the Galaxy A04e nor the Galaxy M04 will receive routine monthly or quarterly security patches. Existing apps will continue to work as normal. However, over time, the lack of new security patches may expose the software to newer system vulnerabilities.
In rare instances, Samsung has been known to issue standalone critical patches for serious security flaws even on unsupported devices, though regular scheduled updates will no longer occur.
If you are using either of these devices as your primary phone, upgrading to a newer model with guaranteed long-term software support is recommended to ensure your personal data stays safe.

November began but Galaxy S25 phones getting 2nd update dated October 2026
Samsung has a new software update for users of the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in November 2026, but it’s still dated October 2026. This isn’t a random or rare firmware, as various Galaxy phones are getting it recently.
Samsung has made the Galaxy S26 series pricier, which surprisingly made the Galaxy S25 series a competitive purchase. With the older flagships getting new camera features through software update, there’s no necessity of the newest models.
Galaxy S25 Ultra is available as Refurbished in the US and Europe. In India, Amazon is offering the flagship model for under INR 85,000. The device comes with a capable camera, fluid performance, and Galaxy AI capabilities.
Last month, Samsung provided an October 2026 update to several devices. Galaxy S25 series was one of them, bringing a plethora of new features. Later, Samsung dropped a separate update to install October 2026 patches.
As November began, Galaxy S25 users anticipated the latest patches, but Samsung has something else: a 2nd October 2026 update (via Kailash).
The firmware weighs around 700 megabytes for the Galaxy S25 Ultra and carries the latest security patches released in October 2026. Owners of Samsung’s 2025 flagships can identify the update via build versions ending in DZJB.
Build versions:
- S931NKSUDDZJB: Galaxy S25
- S936NKSUDDZJB: Galaxy S25+
- S938NKSUDDZJB: Galaxy S25 Ultra
The update changelog mentions system stability and performance updates. However, the size of the package signals even more under-the-hood improvements.
Samsung won’t stop here; expect another software update in a few weeks. That should surely include the November 2026 security patches, as the Galaxy S25 lineup is guaranteed to receive priority monthly software updates.
Check for updates through Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Entire Galaxy S26 family getting surprise update in the US
Samsung Galaxy S26, S26 FE, S26+, and S26 Ultra are getting the 2nd update in October 2026 in the US. It doesn’t happen too often, as the company’s latest flagship phone getting two updates in the same month is considered rare.
When the Galaxy S26 series began receiving the 2nd October 2026 update, it was a timeline for the November 2026 patches, but Samsung’s firmware retained the current month’s patches.
The changelog doesn’t reveal much either, focusing on “performance improvements.” Now, Samsung is rolling out the 2nd October 2026 update in the US, and users of the Galaxy S26 series are getting it.
- Galaxy S26 Ultra: S948USQU5BZJA
- Galaxy S26+: S947USQU5BZJA
- Galaxy S26: S942USQU5BZJA
- Galaxy S26 FE: S741USQU2AZJ5
Earlier this month, Samsung acknowledged a severe issue on One UI 9. The new OS has a bug tied to the initial setup screen, which occurs when you set up your device for the first time after resetting on One UI 9.0 official software.
Samsung said the problem is linked to Samsung Account login. The company suggested logging in to Samsung Account in another way, which bypasses the broken page. A fix was promised to be delivered in the “next update.”
At that time, everyone assumed fixes should come in the November update. However, Samsung’s rollout of a new October firmware signals that Galaxy S26 users may have already started getting fixes for the setup wizard issue.
The rollout is sequential, so availability may vary. You can check for updates and manually trigger one through Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 users grabbing October 2026 security update
Samsung has started rolling out a new update for the Galaxy Watch 9 in South Korea. The update is based on One UI 9 Watch and includes the October 2026 security patch. It comes with firmware version L350XXU1AZJ3 and has a download size of around 230MB.
The latest update mainly focuses on improving the stability and security of the Galaxy Watch 9. According to the changelog, Samsung has applied stabilization code to the device. It also mentions that stabilization code related to terminal operation has been applied. However, Samsung has not shared more details about these changes.
The update does not mention any major new features. Instead, it seems to focus on improving the watch’s stability and keeping the device up to date with the latest security improvements. Security updates help protect devices from possible security risks.
Currently, the update is available in South Korea. Samsung has not yet announced when it will be released in other countries. Users in other regions may have to wait for the update to arrive.
Galaxy Watch 9 users can check for the latest update through the Galaxy Wearable app on their connected smartphone. If the update is available, they can download and install it by following the instructions on the screen. The new update brings the October 2026 security patch and stability improvements to the Galaxy Watch 9.

Samsung offers Galaxy S26 users a brand-new One UI 9 update in Europe, India
Samsung is providing Galaxy S26 series users with a new software update based on the One UI 9.0 operating system. The devices have already received the October patches earlier this month, and this update was expected to carry November patches.
The company initially started the update rollout in South Korea on October 26. The company has expanded the firmware to Global users in Europe and India as of October 29, with a US expansion planned this week.
Galaxy S26 family’s new BZJA/BZJB update is aimed at enhancing the One UI 9.0 build. The security patch level is unchanged at October 2026. This release weighs up to 700 megabytes, offering stability and reliability improvements.
Here’s everything new in the Galaxy S26 BZJA/BZJB update
Samsung’s second software update released for the Galaxy S26 series in October 2026 focuses on system stability, security hardening, and potentially resolving a setup-screen freezing bug affecting some Galaxy S26 Ultra users.
Although the changelog does not identify specific bugs, this improvement could include a fix for the One UI 9.0 issue that prevents some Galaxy S26 Ultra units from completing the setup process after a factory reset.
Samsung acknowledged the problem after users reported being stuck on a setup screen displaying a webpage-loading error when attempting to sign in to their Samsung Account. The issue was linked to an unstable system WebView component on certain networks.
Given that commitment, the second October release is expected to address the freezing issue. However, Samsung’s published changelog does not explicitly confirm the fix, so its inclusion remains unverified.
Downgrade restrictions: Samsung warns that users cannot roll back to a previous software version with a lower security patch level after installing this update.
You can update your Galaxy’s software through Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Release notes:
Stabilization code applied: Improves device stability related to general operations.
Security code applied: Applies Google and Samsung security fixes for October 2026.
Important notice: Due to enhanced security policies in this update, you cannot downgrade to previous software versions with lower security patches.
App updates: Samsung system apps may be updated to their latest compatible versions after installation.
