Samsung Galaxy S26

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 FE may come with a useful free offer. A leaked promotional poster shared by tipster @evleaks says buyers could get six months of Google AI Pro for free with the smartphone.

The offer is said to be worth €132. It will also include 5TB of Google cloud storage. Users can use this storage for photos, videos, documents and other files.

Google AI Pro gives users access to more AI features and extended access to Google’s Gemini tools. This could be useful for people who use AI regularly for work, study or everyday tasks.

According to the leaked information, the offer will be available until August 2, 2027, at 8:59 AM. However, the offer may not be available in every country. Samsung already confirmed the launch of the Galaxy S26 FE on August 27.

There is also an important condition. After the free six-month trial ends, Google AI Pro will cost €21.99 per month. Users can cancel the subscription at any time if they do not want to pay for it.

The leaked terms also mention that returning the Galaxy S26 FE could lead to cancellation of the Google AI Pro subscription. Samsung has not officially confirmed this offer yet, so it should be treated as leaked information for now.

If Samsung confirms the deal, the free six-month Google AI Pro subscription and 5TB of storage could make the Galaxy S26 FE a more attractive option for buyers. More details about the phone’s price, specifications and launch date are expected later.

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold breaks in bend test, but there’s a twist

Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold bend test

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 passed the durability test as an impressive survivor. In the most-awaited JerryRigEverything durability test, the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold failed in the bend test like its predecessors, but one thing has improved.

Zack Nelson is back with another video, this time the Pixel 11 Pro bend and durability test. Google’s new foldable phone, and a main Galaxy Z Fold 8 competitor in the US, has failed the bend test like its predecessors.

The durability test involved scratch resistance, dust and mud on the screen and the hinge, as well as a flame test. The majority of outcomes were similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, showcasing hardware-driven resilience.

The landscape flipped 360 degrees when Zack put force and bent the phone in the opposite direction. Extending the force led the Pixel 11 Pro Fold to crack badly, which ended up losing the cover screen protector.

Google’s foldable failed again in a durability test; meanwhile, the Samsung foldable managed to stay functional despite the opposite bend. However, one thing Google improved is notable: the phone didn’t catch fire like before.

After previous instances, Zack was ready with a handy fire extinguisher, but it wasn’t required this time. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold foldable phone didn’t catch fire even after failing the bend test in brutal durability evaluation.

Expect a teardown video to follow in the next couple of days. Zack released the Fold 8’s durability test around 10 days ago, which was followed by a teardown. However, the Flip 8 and Fold 8 Ultra are yet to face the durability test.

Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra rumored to feature self scratch healing screen

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra S Pen

Galaxy S24 Ultra was the first to introduce Samsung and Corning’s Gorilla Armor, an anti-reflective coating. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to launch next year with a brilliant self-scratch-healing screen technology.

Samsung has made screen protectors irrelevant in 2026. The reason is the Privacy Display technology used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. It’s anti-reflective and offers hardware-level screen protection through interactive UI.

Galaxy S27 Ultra may boast a self-scratch-healing screen

Tipster @phonefuturist reports that Samsung and Corning are reportedly developing a self-healing surface coating. This could debut with the Galaxy S27 Ultra, offering a self-scratch-healing feature on Samsung’s next big flagship.

This upgrade could come as part of the expansive Gorilla Armor segment. Galaxy S26 Ultra also features Gorilla Armor to reduce reflections. Next year’s flagship would take the experience further with a brilliant self-recovery trick.

Galaxy S27 Ultra scratch healing feature

Manufacturers have already raised the bar for screen scratch resistance. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 just survived a durability test, with its cover screen panel surviving scratches at Mohs level 6, causing no major scratches.

Still, our phones become victims of micro scratches in everyday use. They could appear due to forceful touch, the tips of our nails, or any other stuff come into contact. The scratches are permanent, and the only security is screen protection.

Meanwhile, putting an external screen protector reduces the display output. Colors fade, and details are reduced dramatically even with genuine ones. Samsung probably wants to fix that by bringing a self-healing display technology.

The next Gorilla Armor may not focus on hardening the surface. Corning may upgrade it with a scratch recovery approach in mind. If it shipped with the S27 Ultra, it would mark a switch from scratch resistance to scratch recovery.

Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy Chip

Qualcomm recently teased that its next-gen flagship mobile platform will launch in two different versions. Qualcomm spent years shocking the industry with its Snapdragon naming scheme, and the 2026 iteration won’t be an exception. Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is reportedly the marketing name of the next top-tier SoC.

Weibo leaker DigitalChatStation allegedly revealed the “official names” of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processors. The company would unveil Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 next month.

Samsung’s Ultra pick – Extreme of “for Galaxy”

Samsung has been using custom Snapdragon chips in its Galaxy flagship devices. Qualcomm supplies overclocked Snapdragon chips with the “for Galaxy” tagline at the end.

With Qualcomm bringing two different versions this year, it remains to be seen whether Samsung sticks to the “for Galaxy” strategy or opts for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen6 processor.

The dual-version strategy appears to be a part of Qualcomm’s intentions to tackle rising costs. Smartphone vendors would be able to better align their upcoming products amid a memory crunch.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Processor

Qualcomm’s first “Extreme” version would have an edge over the standard version. It could be a variation in CPU/GPU frequency, cache size, and support for DRAM and NAND flash solutions.

Galaxy S27 Ultra, meanwhile, is highly anticipated to boast the most advanced processor in the market, and it’s going to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen6 from Qualcomm.

Samsung’s System LSI business wants the MX Division to expand the use of its in-house Exynos chips to the Pro and Ultra models. Meanwhile, the mobile business hasn’t made the final call on the Galaxy S27 lineup’s chip strategy.
