Samsung Galaxy S23 FE smartphone may still launch for consumers despite rumors of cancellation. It was rumored that the company may use Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip to maintain cost, but it doesn’t seem to be happening anymore.

According to SamMobile sources, Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will launch in the fourth quarter of 2023. Instead of going ahead with Qualcomm, the company is reportedly considering using Exynos 2200 processor in its next affordable flagship internationally.

Launch

The S23 FE could go official in the fourth quarter of this year, probably in September/October. It’s a great timeframe as it falls between the launch of the Galaxy Z5 foldables and the next year’s Galaxy S24 flagships. Notably, the vendor has released the S20 FE in September 2020.

Processor

Exynos 2200 processor is used in the Galaxy S22 series and shipped in select regions including Europe. In the rest of the world, the devices were released with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor as Samsung was about to ditch it from its flagship lineup.

The report reveals that the S23 FE would use Exynos 2200 chipset in all markets including the United States. It was the company’s first SoC, which used a custom Xclipse (AMD) GPU for competitive graphics performance, but it didn’t happen at all.

Camera

The Galaxy S23 FE may also get an upgrade in the primary camera, from a conventional 12-megapixel to a 50-megapixel sensor. The Galaxy S21 FE and S20 FE come with a 12-megapixel main camera on the rear side along with an ultrawide and a telephoto.

More on S23 FE

The next Fan Edition could get model number: SM-S711x, where the S belongs to the Galaxy S series, while the number “7” shows it’s a non-flagship tier device similar to S10 Lite (G770x) and Note 10 Lite (N770x).

Apart from this, it’s expected that the device may be available in two memory versions: 128GB and 256GB paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Moreover, it could be packed with a 4,500 mAh battery that could be rechargeable with 25-watt fast charging.
