According to a new rumor, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition) smartphone will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. The company may keep the “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy” exclusive to the S23 series without compromising on S23 FE.
Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor is manufactured by Taiwan’s TSMC, which is an overclocked version of the chipset used in the Galaxy S22 flagships. Last year, Samsung used the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphones.
Compared to the vanilla model, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 brings better performance and efficiency and somewhat ends the overheating and throttling issues. Besides, it would be better than the company’s plans of using a new Exynos processor in the next Fan Edition.
Last but not least, the tipster claimed in their leak that the reason behind using Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 in Galaxy S23 FE is pricing. It will be helping Samsung to introduce the Galaxy S23 FE at striking (flagship-killer) pricing to rival Chinese phones such as the OnePlus 11R 5G.

Samsung x Fan Edition(s)
Samsung first introduced the Galaxy S20 FE in the second half of 2020. It features the same specs as the Galaxy S20 lineup. Later, the company released the Galaxy S21 FE in early 2022, which didn’t gain profits for Samsung due to higher pricing, giving opportunities to rivals.
The Galaxy S22 series’s Fan Edition has not yet launched, and there’s any rumor about the device. Hence, reports indicating the arrival of the Galaxy S23 FE are just giving peace of mind that the company is not canceling the recently established lineup.

Apple to reduce iPhone 15 ‘hotness’ w/ new iOS 17 update

Apple’s newly released iPhone 15 Pro models evolved controversial over the heating problems. Various users complain that their device gets warm even without heavy usage. Well, Apple has finally decided to acknowledge overheating issues with the iPhone 15 Pro.
The iPhone maker issued a statement via Forbes, as to how it plans to address the problems. Apple has finally acknowledged that the iPhone 15 Pro series is having overheating problems. The company will release a new iOS 17 update for the devices soon.
Apple said the following: “We have identified a few conditions which can cause iPhone to run warmer than expected. The device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity”.
Apple’s statement notes that recent updates to some third-party apps on iOS 17, like Instagram, Asphalt 9, and Uber, overload the A17 Pro chip’s CPU, causing the iPhone to get warmer than normal. The optimization work is underway along with implementing necessary fixes to completely address the problem.
