Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Max is the world’s biggest and most advanced fingerprint scanner that has a surface area of 20mm x 30mm – a scanning area of two fingers. This is around 10x the size of the 3D Sonic Gen 2 scanner used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The new Qualcomm scanner further offers five times better accuracy than the predecessor 3D Sonic Gen 2. In fact, it can enroll fingerprints in a single tap, making the fingerprint enrollment process significantly shorter.
It delivers high performance across a wide range of operating conditions including dry, wet, and even contaminated exposures, and is faster than legacy solutions when fingers get wet. Meanwhile, with built-in anti-spoofing, 3D Sonic meets the highest security standards for mobile devices, rejecting fake photos and fake molds of your finger
Well, the Galaxy S23 series is not the first to use the Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max fingerprint scanner, iQOO 9 Pro and Vivo X80 Pro have already installed it.
