Update – August 25, 2022

Samsung has just opened the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta testing program for the Galaxy S22 series consumers in India. Participants are receiving the initial Beta build in the country with PDA version number ending: ZVHK.

This build is said to have improvements for select Samsung stock apps alongside refreshed icons and bug fixes over Beta 1, which was released in the US, South Korea and Germany. It’s worth mentioning that the Galaxy S22 series devices have not yet received the 2nd Beta in trio markets.

Initial Story – August 5, 2022

It’s now finally happening! Samsung started the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta program alongside the rollout of the first Beta for the Galaxy S22 series devices in Germany. If you are ready to join the Beta testing, just head toward the Samsung Members app, sign up for the Beta program and wait for a few mins.

Shortly after joining the One UI 5 Beta program, Samsung will bring the major Android 13 upgrade for your Galaxy S22 series smartphone, however, it’s initially official in Germany. The company confirmed that the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra phones without carrier foundation are eligible for the One UI 5 Beta.

How to join One UI 5 Beta?

Through the Samsung Members app, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra devices (DBT/device without network provider branding) can register for the One UI 5 Beta. Within the app, you should see the banner that will let you join the “One UI Beta Program.”

Notes

Before joining the Beta program, it’s important to keep some points in mind that the Beta firmware can harm your personal data. Therefore, we recommend you should take a backup ahead of installing the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta OTA on your smartphone.

Unquestionably, the One UI 5 Beta will bring a lot of new features to your Galaxy S22 series smartphone, meanwhile, you need to forget contactless payments apps like Samsung Pay and Google Pay for a while, as the Beta update will brick compatibility due to security concerns.
