Google working on new user-friendly way to search files in Drive

Google is working hard to improve Drive’s search engine through a powerful tool called the Search Chip. As it is not that easy to find files in Google drive, and it’s become very fracturing. So for this, Google has now introduced a new feature that makes the user experience to the next level.

Earlier this year, Gmail’s search chip went online, and now (via- Androidpolice) it’ll help you better browse through files in Drive. With this new feature, entering a query and clicking on the search icon will automatically generate several interactive filters under the search bar.

While using general search terms, you get too many results, which makes it difficult to find the specific file you need. But now with these new search chips, you can organize items by file types (Google Doc, PDF, images, etc.), location, the date it was last modified and who has access to it.

These filters will help users optimize searches, show and find more relevant results. files fast. Currently, the drive’s search chip is in beta testing, that means it can be used by all Google Workspace, G Suite Basic and G Suite Business customers.

Administrators can fill out the form to register their domain to the program, and users who accept the group will get the search chip function by default when registering.
