Samsung September 2021 update brings One UI 3.1.1 features for Galaxy Z Fold 2, Z Flip

Samsung started releasing September 2021 software update to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and Galaxy Z Flip in various parts of the world. Along with the latest security improvements, the September update brings One UI 3.1.1 features to older foldables as well. So let’s start with:

Galaxy Z Fold 2

Samsung’s September 2021 update is making its way to the Canadian (F916WVLU2EUH5), European (F916BXXU2EUH5) and South Korean (F916NKSU1DUH5) variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G. Other than the One UI 3.1.1 features, it brings August 2021 Android patches as well.

Galaxy Z Flip LTE and 5G

Samsung’s first-generation clamshell foldable smartphones – Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G started getting some of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 features alongside the latest One UI 3.1.1 update. Unlike Fold 2, the new Flip 3 update includes the most up-to-date security patches released in September 2021.

September patch details

Although Samsung has started to rollout the September 2021 security patch, the details are still unknown that could be released in the coming days. As previously, the new security patch could bring fixes for dozens of CVEs from Google along with additional improvements from Samsung.

How to check for updates manually

  • Open device Settings
  • Scroll down and tap on Software updates
  • Hit the Download and install button.
