Samsung Galaxy A12 at Verizon gets Android 11 and One UI 3.1 update

Yesterday, major US carrier Verizon started a new software update rollout for Samsung devices in which the Galaxy S10 series received the July 2021 security update. Moving on, the carrier is now rolling out a major software update to the Galaxy A12 in the United States.

According to the info, Verizon is now pushing the Android 11 update for the Galaxy A12 in the US, which carries version number: A125USQU2BUFE. Alongside the new Android OS, it also brings Samsung’s latest One UI 3.1 features and changes together.

Apart from this, Verizon’s Android 11 update for this budget smartphone comes with the May 2021 security patch in order to enhance the system’s security against threats. However, it is an initial rollout, the carrier will expand the reach of this firmware gradually.

One UI 3.1 comes with major UI changes and a collection of new features such as Private Share, better multitasking, re-imagined user interface, revamped lock screen/home screen/app drawer/recent menu, Eye Comfort Sheild, improved network connectivity as well as privacy and so on.

On the other hand, Google’s Android 11 update embeds a number of noticeable features in the system software such as better privacy controls, Chat Bubbles, notification history, one-time permission for apps, improved network connectivity, and more.

How to check for update manually?

As always, just open your device’s Settings, scroll down then tap on the Software updates menu. Wait for update checking and hit the Download and install button if the device recognizes a new OTA update.
