Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G now receiving May 2021 security update

Samsung released a new software update to the Galaxy Fold 5G smartphones. This update improves the system security by installing the latest Android and One UI patches released in May 2021.

Users in Europe can identify this release via build version – F907BXXU5EUD7, while the same update for Korean variants carries PDA firmware version – F907NKOU3EUD7.

Other than the security improvements, this new Galaxy Fold 5G update doesn’t bring new features or remarkable changes to the system performance. Meanwhile, it fixes some unknown bugs for a better overall user experience.

Starting this month, the company began sending the May 2021 security update to several Galaxy devices, and the Galaxy Fold 4G is one of them. Now the 5G version has also got the newer security patch, which includes fixes for three critical CVEs from Google and 23 CVEs from Samsung.

However, it is a staged rollout, so it may take some time to reach every Galaxy Fold 5G model. Till then, you can check for s/w updates manually by heading towards the device Settings, select Software updates, and tap on Download and install.
