Samsung Galaxy Note 9 users receiving March 2021 security patch

So, there are only a few days remaining of this month and several Samsung Galaxy devices have received this month’s security patch. Besides, the company is also expanding the One UI 3.1 update to various Galaxies in different regions across the globe.

On the other hand, a number of Galaxy phones and tablets are still waiting to get a new software update in the form of a new security patch or a major Android 11 as per their eligibility. Now, the news is coming from South Korea for an older flagship smartphone of Samsung, which is also related to a new software update.

According to the latest information, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 users have started getting the March 2021 security update in South Korea. This new firmware update carries a build version N960NKSU3FUC1. However, it’s an initial rollout, it may be available to other markets in the coming days.

As per the official security bulletin, the latest One UI security patch brings fixes for 4 critical and 26 high levels of threats and CVEs in order to enhance the system security for a better overall user experience.

It is worth mentioning that the Galaxy Note 9 is not eligible to get the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update as it has already received two major Android updates. Aside from this, the company will deliver a new security update to this handset till four years of its initial release.

Here’s how to check for updates manually:

  • Open device Settings
  • Scroll down and select Software updates
  • Tap on Download and install.
