After skipping the usual release with the Galaxy S25 series, the One UI 7.1 update may be revealed in the future. Samsung has changed its strategy and it’s now slightly unsafe to guess what’s next in the software segment.
Samsung has significantly delayed the One UI 7 Beta and Stable rollout. The Beta Program started three months late as usual and the Stable update has also followed the same suit.
Another major change that Samsung made in its software strategy is skipping the One UI 7.1. The company has introduced the x.0 iteration with its new Galaxy S flagships rather than the x.1.
One UI 7.1 Update – When can we expect
It’s unsafe to guess a potential One UI 7.1 release timeframe, but developments suggest an April or May reveal along with the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung teased this phone at the Unpacked event in late January 2025. After the event, the company confirmed to 9to5Google that the reveal is likely around April this year.
Skipping One UI 7.1 could be a move to streamline the software development and distribution. The possibility also is that the incremental build may have been kept reserved for a future reveal.

If released, this update will bring several improvements, with a focus on more advanced AI features, particularly for the newly launched Galaxy S25 series.
Samsung may also expand Galaxy S25’s software advancements to older models like the Galaxy S24 and S23 as part of the One UI 7.1 software update.
