Samsung Galaxy Ultra offers high-end specifications and a unique design, therefore, the Galaxy S25 will also carry these traits onboard. It will have some reinvented outlook as an upgrade over the S24 Ultra.
The power boost will also be significant with this Galaxy flagship for a new user experience. The software is redesigned and furnished with interactive elements for a large display.
This model will streamline generative AI in the Galaxy smartphone ecosystem and simplify your day-to-day usage. If you are a smartphone enthusiast, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will polish the photo and videography capabilities to deliver a high-end camera experience.
This upcoming Samsung device will have plenty to offer over its predecessor in specs, design, and performance, and here’s everything you need to know.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Display
- Size – 6.8-inch AMOLED display
- Resolution – QHD+
- Refresh Rate – 1-120Hz (adaptive refresh rate)
The phone will use a 6.8-inch AMOLED flat panel. This change has been a long time coming in Samsung’s flagship smartphone, known for its curvy edges.
Such display style has been popularized for more than a decade but S25 Ultra will switch back to the flat screen for good.
This display will be a Dynamic AMOLED display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It is likely to be the same as the S24 Ultra but we may see some optimizations in the color and contrast for vivid imaging and on-screen visuals.
Notice that Samsung introduced the glare-free film with the S24U, which could get new improvements. The front will have a single punch hole to house a selfie camera, a typical design feature from past models.
A report suggests that the S25 Ultra will improve the brightness and take over the S24U with 3000 nits.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Design
- Shape – Rectangular design, round corners, flat frame
- Material – Titanium
The biggest change in this flagship will appear on the design side. CAD renders from OnLeaks and Evleaks show that the phone will carry a new frame, a major shift in Samsung’s design philosophy.
For the past decade, Samsung has been designing its flagship phones with curved screens, and to support those waterfall edges. The frame cooperated with the rear panel for a seamless blending.
This round has been adopted by many Chinese smartphone companies. However, its time is finally fading as more of these are increasingly opting for a full flat display.
That brings us to the S25 Ultra, which will no longer have those sharp angles, instead, Samsung will round them to create a full rectangle with curved corners and a flat frame. This new design language will support a flat front, rear, and frame.
To recall, Galaxy S24 and S24+ already demonstrated this design practice. However, the S24 Ultra retained some of its old traits. That said, the S25 Ultra will also get a flat frame and rear and front panels.
Reports indicate that the phone will continue to use polished Titanium. This material is superior to aluminum and strengthens the build quality. Below you can check the Galaxy S25 Ultra color options:
- Titanium Black
- Titanium Blue
- Titanium Gray
- Titanium Silver
- Titanium Jade Green

With these specifications, the device will run AI writing assist tools. These will help users write new content based on a description, change a text tone, or proofread selected content from an online article. This tool can also summarize large chunks of text within a few paragraphs in the simplest language.
The new object removal tool will achieve more precision in output for each image you select to outcast noises, and reorganize elements, or unwanted people.
The new Galaxy AI suit will optimize app notifications with gen AI and show you what’s important, such as reminders, invitations, or any transactional detail.
Transcription will expand to more system applications, especially call recording, enabling users to record and get a transcript of the entire conversation.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Software
- Software – One UI 7 (Android 15)
- Upgrades – 7 Years of Operating System (OS) and Security Updates
Samsung One UI is optimized with Snapdragon processors to deliver a smooth user experience. However, the previous version wasn’t up to the mark, which is a matter of scrutiny due to the heavy weight of bloatware and other on-board applications.
One UI 7 takes a different approach and the S25 series will experience this new change up front. It has new graphical upgrades, which will showcase right from the second the device wakes up.
The new Now Bar will show you key notifications and controls on the lock screen within the reach of one hand. These widgets are optimized for the lock screen allowing you to control their essential features without unlocking the device. One tap on the Nav Bar will transform it into a full-blown widget with a more extensive visualization.
Quick settings are optimized for higher personalization allowing users to change its elements and reshuffle the sections including connectivity, quick access buttons, brightness & sound control, and more.
The home screen brings new app icons with a fresh new look. Furthermore, the S25 Ultra’s 6.8-inch screen will make it worth viewing.
These are just a few notable changes and upgrades in this software and more exclusive capabilities that will tag along with the S25 Ultra. It will also support seamless software support with A/B updates.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Camera
- Main – 200MP camera
- Ultra Wide – 50MP camera
- Primary Telephoto – 50MP camera with 5x Optical zoom
- Secondary Telephoto – 10MP camera with 3X Optical Zoom
- LED flash – Yes
The camera design will remain identical to the S24 Ultra except for larger bumps for all five openings in the top left corner. These will house a primary, an ultra-wide, two telephoto cameras and LED flash.
This flagship will focus on improving the overall camera experience including a 200MP main camera. Its pixel capacity could be identical to S24U but new algorithm optimizations and Snapdragon ISP could improve image outputs.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite brings real-time semantic segmentation for photo and video frames. Its AI features can adjust skin and sky in real time to create natural color and lighting in different scenarios. The new ISP supports 8K video recording at up to 60fps. The S24 Ultra can record videos in 4K at 120fps, and 8K at 30fps. An upgrade to 60fps will be a big jump for videography.
Unlike the main camera, Samsung will boost an ultra-wide angle from 12MP to 50MP. This will increase the wide shot resolution for higher quality. Upgrading the lens means that you can take more detail into account than a 12MP lens. Not only images, but the ultra-wide camera will ramp up the videography quality.
It will use two telephoto cameras, the first is a 50MP periscope module with 5x Optical zoom and 10x optical quality zoom. The second is a 10MP telephoto zoom with 3X optical zoom.
Samsung will also fuse AI into zoom to maintain pixel quality while increasing the zoom into a subject, which could imply macro photography.
Night Photography
One of the major benefits of buying a flagship camera phone is nighttime photography. Samsung has enhanced nighttime photography and S25 Ultra could make it even better with new algorithms and AI.
As a result, we may see, brighter, sharper, and less noisy images in low light thanks to the new camera optimizations in optical image stabilization and ISP.
Camera app
The One UI 7 has made new UI changes in the camera app, users will see the most used features right after the app launches. Providing you with a clutter-free photography and videography experience.
With new AI integration, the app will continue to suggest improvements while capturing photos and videos.

- Capacity – 5000mAh Battery
- Charging – 45W fast wired charging
According to Samsung, a 5000mAh battery could stream videos for up to 30 hours or provide 95 hours of music playback.
These are just lab tests but the S24U (with the same capacity) has shown a big jump in backup than previous flagships.
Still, Samsung should have chosen at least a 5500mAh battery for the Ultra model but we need to wait to know more about this power level change. The smartphone will also support wireless and reverse charging features.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Features (Other)
- Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor
- S-Pen
Users will get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on the display. Samsung will also work on new S-Pen optimizations for better touch sensitivity for connectivity and screen touch responsiveness with applied pressure.
Galaxy S25 Ultra Price
- Price – $1,299-$1,399
Prior to 24U, Samsung sold the top model at $1,199 but last year, it increased the Ultra to $1,299. The price is also $100 above the iPhone 16 Pro Max. So, it’s hard to anticipate an increase in the starting price for this model in 2025. Therefore, the Galaxy S25 Ultra price should start at $1,299.
However, we cannot rule out the possibility of an increase because the device is rumored to sell at 1,449 euros in Europe. So, we’ll have to wait for an official price on the release date.
It’s reported that the S25 Ultra will use 16GB RAM for 512GB and 1TB storage. So, these two models could increase the prices by $100-$200 compared to S24U.
