Report: Galaxy S26 Ultra screen develops dots after red tint color calibration update

Samsung’s screen patch appears to have failed in addressing the red tint issue on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and the second wave of reports highlights an even worse situation, such as the display developing dots.

It seems Samsung’s attempt to fix the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s controversial red tint display problem appears to have created another layer of concern for some owners.

Earlier this week, the company began rolling out an August 2026 software update that includes the long-awaited correction for the red discoloration issue.

Samsung had previously attributed the problem to an error in display color optimization rather than a hardware defect. However, reports from Galaxy S26 Ultra users suggest that the story may not end with the software fix.

Some Galaxy S26 Ultra owners who received color calibration, either through the update or at Samsung service centers, are now claiming that small dot-like marks have appeared near the top portion of the display.

The reports are still based on individual user experiences, and there is no confirmation that these newly reported dots are directly caused by Samsung’s calibration process.

The timing is particularly notable because Samsung’s flagship uses a new display system built around its Privacy Display technology.

Samsung previously offered free display calibration at service centers while preparing the software solution. The August update is now rolling out, beginning in South Korea, with wider availability expected.

If the newly reported dots continue to appear, a service-center inspection may be necessary to determine whether the issue is software-related or requires display replacement.

At this point, Galaxy S26 Ultra owners should treat the reports cautiously. Samsung has not confirmed a connection between the calibration process and the reported dot-like marks.
