Samsung and Netflix celebrate Fold 8 launch with free The East Palace themes and wallpapers for all Galaxy users

Samsung and Netflix are marking the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8 with a special event built around The East Palace.

Users of Samsung devices, both new and existing, can download five free themes and wallpapers along with matching icons that capture the mood of The East Palace.

The East Palace pack goes live through the Galaxy Store starting at 10:00 AM local time on July 30 and will remain available until September 10.

Free of charge, users can download five themes and wallpapers, along with icons, capturing the atmosphere of the East Palace and its signature pond, including Kkeomeoksari, the fan-favorite character often dubbed the “Joseon-era Groot.”

Samsung and Netflix have collaborated since 2019, and this isn’t their first theme drop. Past promotions tied to Stranger Things and KPop Demon Hunters gave fans similar ways to bring their favorite shows into daily use on their devices.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is designed with Netflix streaming as a priority. The inner display’s aspect ratio shifts from 10:9 to 4:3, cutting down the black bars above and below video so content fills more of the screen.

AI integration goes further too; Now Brief can surface Netflix recommendations or show exactly where a user left off based on schedule and usage patterns, even suggesting “Travel Ready” picks ahead of a trip.

Additionally, Samsung Finder lets users search for a title and pull up related content without opening the Netflix app. These upgrades come as part of the One UI 9 full experience, which is tailor-made for the new foldable phones.
