Apple iPhone’s dialer is widely praised for its call log presentation. Google Phone is also testing call log display from WhatsApp and Meet and this capability should also expand to the Samsung Galaxy’s Phone app.

Calls are no longer just phone calls, they arrive through various platforms. Some prefer WhatsApp, some Instagram and some Meet. The list of platforms is vast and we can’t easily count an overall usage preference.

Apple dialer app shows incoming and outgoing calls from various apps. WhatsApp calls appear right on the native dialer app with a app-name label. The same goes for other compatible apps along with the facility to reuse the medium.

Samsung has already sidelined its Messages app for Google’s version. However, the company has still kept alive its Phone app despite a Google Phone is available there and various Android partners have opted for this app.

Google recently announced that it is testing call log from WhatsApp and Meet in Android’s Phone (dialer) app. The integration will be provided on an opt in basis, with users can enable and disable as per their likings.

Google Phone has embarked on the journey and Samsung should too.

Integration of third-party calling services in the Samsung Phone app will be widely appreciate. It would reduce the cleanliness due to extra burden. Meanwhile, it would also streamline the overall user experience on Galaxy.

At present, Meet is the lone supported call log app on Google Phone. App developers will have to work with Google to add this functionality. Samsung, on the flip side, should also consider matching Google Phone in this aspect.
