T-Mobile may tie Samsung phones to 3-year contracts in the US
If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your Samsung phone or buying any Galaxy smartwatch on the T-Mobile network carrier in the US, there’s some news you might want to know. It looks like T-Mobile could soon let customers pay for certain Samsung devices over 3 years instead of the usual 2. Yes, that’s right, meaning you could have up to 36 months to pay off.
Right now, T-Mobile only offers 24-month (2-year) payment plans for phones and other devices. But other US carriers like AT&T and Verizon already offer 36-month plans. It looks like T-Mobile might be getting ready to do the same.
A report from The Mobile Report says T-Mobile is testing the longer payment plan. Some Samsung Galaxy Watch devices briefly showed the 36-month option on the T-Mobile website before it was removed. This suggests that T-Mobile is preparing to offer this new plan, at least for some Samsung products.
Currently, we don’t know if this plan will be for all Samsung phones and devices or just a few. It’s also unclear if customers will still have the option to choose the 24-month plan, or if everyone will be moved to the 36-month option by default.

Of course, spreading payments over three years means lower monthly bills, which can help if you’re on a budget. But keep in mind, a longer payment plan means you’re tied to T-Mobile for more time. You can still pay off the device early, but you might lose any special discounts or promo credits.
T-Mobile hasn’t officially announced this yet, but the website changes and leaked documents show it may happen soon. If you’re planning to buy a new Samsung phone or watch from T-Mobile, you might have a longer 3-year payment plan to consider.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 and Flip7 FE eligible for 7 Android and One UI updates through 2032
Samsung just introduced the new foldable smartphones – Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, at the Galaxy Unpacked event. All three foldable phones will get seven years of Android updates and security patches.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7, Flip7 FE, and Fold 7 ship with Android 16 and One UI 8.0 out of the box. Notably, these are the first phones to come preloaded with Android 16. Each device will receive seven years of Android OS upgrades and security updates, which ensures support until 2032 with Android 23.
This means that these Galaxy foldable phones will stay fresh for a long time. Even the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip7 FE will get the same long-term software support as Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
One UI 8 adds smart features powered by Galaxy AI. It includes Photo Assist for easily editing pictures by suggesting what to remove, and Audio Eraser can clean up background noise in recordings. Seven years of update support make these smartphones an excellent long-term investment. Pre-orders are now open, and the phones will be available starting July 25.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE just popped up in some live images on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) site, and it’s giving us a good look at what this phone’s all about. It’s the first time we’re seeing live shots after the previous render leak.
The front has a nice, clean display with a punch-hole camera and rounded corners, which feels pretty standard but sleek. Flip it over, and you’ve got three cameras on the back, each with a silver ring around it (via TheTechOutlook).
The phone in the images is a cool grey color, so that’s definitely one of the options you’ll be able to pick. You can check out the front and back in the live images, and honestly, it looks a lot more like the Galaxy S24 FE than the Galaxy S25.

The WPC listing also spills some details about charging. Similar to the Galaxy S25 series, the upcoming S25 FE supports Qi2 Ready (version 2.1.0). That said, it is ready for Qi2 wireless charging, but it doesn’t feature magnets inside.
Samsung would offer Qi2-compatible cases for the Galaxy S25 FE. The case will have magnets to unlock faster and reliable wireless charging. It’s a major upgrade over the S24 FE that practically enhances the user experience.
The Galaxy S25 FE may launch around October this year. It will be powered by an Exynos 2400 processor with a 10-core CPU and an Xclipse GPU. The rigid OLED is also being replaced with flagship-grade flexible OLED screens.
Out of the box, the device will run Android 16-based One UI 8. While the design feels like an S24 FE replica, the thickness is being reduced. It would be released as the company’s thinnest Fan Edition smartphone yet.

Samsung flagships like the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge are rated for 2,000 charge cycles. Other Samsung models also shine:

This means they can maintain at least 80% of their original battery capacity after 2,000 full charges. That’s impressive compared to most devices, which typically fall between 1,000 and 1,400 cycles.

A new report claims that Apple will launch the iPhone 17e next year. It will follow up on the main models, which are set to drop this September. The affordable iPhone 17e will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE.
Korea’s TheElec reports that the Apple iPhone 17e may launch in Spring 2026. It’s a calendar timeline between March and May in certain countries. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE will launch later this year, and rival Apple’s iPhone 17e.
There’s a major hardware difference expected in these two phones.
Samsung is slated to use premium flexible OLED in the Galaxy S25 FE. The company’s Display arm is gearing up to start mass-producing OLED panels for this Fan Edition product.
On the other hand, Apple will keep recycling aged OLED panels initially manufactured for the iPhone 14 in the iPhone 17e next year, after doing it once for the iPhone 16e this year.

The report states that Apple will launch a new iPhone “e” model every year after the 2026 release. The company will retain an affordable model to compete with its biggest rival, Samsung, in terms of worldwide volumes shipped.
The iPhone maker aims to maintain annual iPhone shipments of 220 million to 230 million units. Among them, the iPhone “e” models could have a capping of 20 million to avoid sales harm to the main models that are Apple’s cash cow.
