Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 update

If you use Spotify and have a Galaxy Watch, there’s some good news for you. Spotify has added a new feature that gives you better music control on your smartwatch.

Spotify now lets you download playlists to your Galaxy Watch directly from your phone or tablet. This means you don’t have to open the Spotify app on your watch or use its small screen to get music.

Users of the Galaxy Watch can now download playlists directly to any of their logged-in devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches. But make sure you’re signed in to the same Spotify Premium account on both your phone and watch.

To use this feature, open the Spotify app on your phone, find a playlist you like, tap the three dots next to it, and choose ‘Download to other devices.’ From the list of devices, tap the download icon next to your Galaxy Watch. The music will start downloading to your watch for offline listening.

It is worth noting that your watch doesn’t even need to be near your phone when you do this. It works remotely. This feature is also available on iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, not just Galaxy devices.

This new feature was tested on the Galaxy S23 Ultra with One UI 7 and a Galaxy Watch 4 running Wear OS 5. On these devices, this Spotify feature worked smoothly

Aside from this, Spotify has added a ‘Manage Downloads’ option. This shows you which devices have downloaded a playlist. Since Spotify Premium allows downloads on only five devices, this tool helps you stay organized.

If you have a Galaxy Watcha and use Spotify Premium, you can try out this new feature.

Android Auto 14.8 lays groundwork for Gemini AI

Android Auto 14.8 is now rolling out in beta, bringing subtle but significant changes. This update hints at the transition from Google Assistant to Gemini AI and introduces a handy Google Maps feature.

The Android Auto 14.8 beta renames the “Assistant” settings section to “Digital Assistant.” This change is visible immediately after installing the update. It’s a clear sign that Google is preparing to integrate Gemini AI into Android Auto.

However, no functional changes are present yet. The “Manage your digital assistant” section still links to Google Assistant settings. Similarly, “Hey Google” detection and messaging notifications retain the Assistant branding.

The rename to “Digital Assistant” suggests Gemini AI’s debut is near. While Android Auto 14.8 doesn’t include Gemini yet, the groundwork is laid. Google is expected to start rolling out Gemini integration soon, replacing Assistant in Android Auto.

A new Google Maps feature has been spotted in Android Auto. A “Work” shortcut button now appears next to the search bar. This allows quick navigation to a pre-set work address. A “Home” shortcut is likely to accompany it.

Android Auto 14.8 is available in beta for testers. Meanwhile, version 14.7 is reaching more users through the stable channel with the new Google Maps shortcut. These updates show Google’s focus on refining Android Auto’s experience.
