PSA: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 will be first to run Android 16-based One UI 8

Samsung is getting ready to launch its newest foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7, which will be the first devices to come with the new One UI 8, based on Android 16. These devices are expected to launch in July 2025.
Today, Samsung has confirmed that both the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7 will come pre-installed with stable One UI 8. This means users of these devices will get to enjoy all the new features right out of the box. After that, Samsung will slowly bring the update to more Galaxy phones and end the beta program.
Samsung officially stated:
“Thanks to the mutual partnership between Samsung and Google, One UI 8 will debut on Samsung’s newest foldables this summer and will gradually expand to more Galaxy devices so users can now enjoy an enriched, more personalized mobile experience with the latest version of Android.”
One UI 8 focuses on making the Galaxy experience smoother, smarter, and more personalized. It brings new AI features that can understand your routine and suggest helpful actions. You’ll also see better voice and visual interactions to easily control your phone in natural ways.
Security is also improved, with Samsung Knox Vault keeping your personal data safe. Also, features like Quick Share, improved reminders, and Auracast for audio sharing make everyday tasks quicker and more enjoyable.

One UI 8 looks cleaner and runs faster. It’s designed to work especially well on foldable screens, offering a smooth and flexible experience.
Back in January 2025, Samsung unveiled One UI 7 alongside the Galaxy S25 series. Following that, Samsung plans to introduce the stable version of One UI 8 with the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7. These foldable smartphones will be the first to come with stable One UI 8 out of the box. However, One UI 8 Beta is already live for the Galaxy S25 series.
If you’re planning to buy one of the new foldables, you’ll be among the first to try new features.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 Ultra press images emerge with design confirmation

Samsung is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated 2025 Galaxy S series FE model and Galaxy Tab S series tablets. Ahead of the official unveiling, press renders of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra and Galaxy S25 FE have been leaked by well-known tipster @evleaks on X, giving fans a detailed preview of the upcoming devices.
The Galaxy S25 FE render shows a polished and elegant design in a whitish color shade, featuring a sleek linear camera layout similar to its predecessor. However, the camera rings are now cleaner and more defined, offering a sharper appearance.
Moreover, the Galaxy S25 FE also seems to offer a higher screen-to-body ratio than the Galaxy S24 FE. It enhances its visual appeal with a more immersive display.

On the other side, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra sports a modern, minimalist design. The leaked renders highlight both the front and back of the device, revealing support for the S Pen.
Unlike the Tab S10 Ultra, which featured a vertical camera layout with a prominent strip for the S Pen, the S11 Ultra opts for a simpler approach. It retains the dual-camera setup, but with larger rings placed closer together and without the extended strip for a cleaner back panel.

The front of the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra shows a large display with slightly thinner bezels and a small notch at the top for the front camera. An S Pen confirms stylus support for drawing and note-taking.
With these updated designs, Samsung seems to focus on delivering a more refined and premium experience across both the Galaxy S25 FE and Tab S11 Ultra. The official launch is expected soon.

Samsung starts teasing Galaxy A17 5G ahead of launch

Samsung is getting ready to launch a new budget 5G smartphone of the Galaxy A series, the Galaxy A17 5G. Ahead of the official launch, the company has teased the Galaxy A17 smartphone on Samsung’s website.
Although the company hasn’t announced it officially, the Galaxy A17 5G has reportedly appeared on Samsung’s support pages in some countries, including the UK and Switzerland. This is a big hint that the launch could happen soon.
However, the support pages do not provide any specific information about the phone’s features or specifications. They simply confirm that the Galaxy A17 5G has been officially listed on Samsung’s website with the model number SM-A176B.

This upcoming Galaxy A series phone has already passed several certification tests, including the FCC in the US, BIS in India, and SGS in Finland. These certifications are another sign that the phone may launch very soon.
Aside from this, the company is reportedly working on bringing Optical Image Stabilization (Hybrid OIS) to the Galaxy A17 smartphone. OIS parts are expensive, around three times more than regular motors in the Galaxy A16. To keep the Galaxy A17 affordable, Samsung may use “Hybrid OIS,” which uses springs to lower costs by 20%. This smart change helps improve camera quality without making the phone too expensive.
Samsung released the Galaxy A16 5G in October 2024, so it’s likely the Galaxy A17 5G will launch around the same time. Stay tuned for more information.

Samsung mulls built-in Qi2 magnets, might ditch Type-C port next

Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 support Qi2 wireless charging. It’s a Qi2-ready feature that requires a special case to be used, as the phones don’t feature Qi2 magnets inside. Meanwhile, Samsung is seeking user feedback regarding Qi2 charging through an online survey to pack future Galaxy devices with built-in magnets.
As spotted by SammyGuru, Samsung is running a survey regarding the integration of Qi2 magnets inside future Galaxy phones. Adoption of a magnet inside would result in a thicker design, and one of Samsung’s questions includes it as well.
With 2025 flagships, Samsung unlocked Qi2 charging that requires a magnet-packed case. It’s the same move as other Android vendors like OnePlus and HMD that are selling Qi2-ready phones without fitting magnets beneath.
Beyond that, two questions hint that Samsung might also be exploring the possibility of going all wireless in future Galaxy devices. After the 3.5mm audio jack, the USB Type-C port could be the next to say goodbye to smartphones.

The Type-C port is mainly used for charging the device on a regular basis. However, it also helps users in seamless and faster data transfer across devices. The survey includes questions about data transfer habits as well, for better research.
Samsung’s wireless charging isn’t as fast as the wired solution. Also, going all wireless such easily isn’t likely in Galaxy devices. The company may improve Qi2 support first before thinking about killing the legacy wired charging solution.
The survey has no signs of potential implementation in Galaxy devices. However, it’s indeed a genuine hint at the plans that Samsung is considering. It all depends on how the survey participants react to the questions asked for the study.

Early numbers hint Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 about to rewrite record books

Samsung’s new foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7, are estimated to break pre-order and sales records in South Korea. Design refinements, hardware upgrades, new OS, and Galaxy AI features are apparently working for Samsung in its home turf.
Back in 2023, Samsung sold 1.02 million units of the Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 (combined) during the Korean pre-orders alone. Consumer interest toward the Z Flip 7 and Fold 7 is very high, as over 160,000 registrations have been made for just notifications.
As pre-orders start, the practical response will be seen from today. We expect the company to drop preliminary pre-order numbers by the end of this week and a final response record at the time when the official release is about to take place.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 were among Samsung’s best-selling foldables in the Korean market. The sales of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 remained comparatively sluggish due to no considerable upgrades to look at.
Being the home ground, South Korea has always been Samsung’s stronghold. Similar to Galaxy phones and appliances, the foldables are quite famous in the country, making it Samsung’s key market to gain foldable traction.
On July 9, Samsung introduced its new foldables: the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7, and Flip7 FE. The devices are available for pre-orders internationally, with Korean carriers today dropping details about offers and subsidies for consumers.
The imminent repeal of a subsidy-related act has intensified the competition in South Korea. With carriers offering huge benefits, the South Korean tech giant is about to rewrite the record books, riding the new foldables frenzy.

This Galaxy S25 FE upgrade could upset Samsung flagship buyers

Samsung is reportedly bringing many flagship-level upgrades to its Galaxy S25 FE, with the charging speed almost confirmed. Following a wild rumor, the next Fan Edition phone’s charging feature has just received a credible confirmation.
Galaxy S25 FE supports fast charging up to 45W, a major boost over the S24 FE. All the previous FE models from S20 FE to S24 FE come with 25W charging. Meanwhile, Samsung is raising the bar with its next Fan Edition device.
The TUV certification has just exposed the Galaxy S25 FE’s charging specs. The phone supports 10V/4.5A or 15V/3A wired fast charging that refers to 45W. It puts the S25 FE ahead of the S25 and Edge and close to the S25 Plus and Ultra.
It would make Samsung flagship buyers regret their purchase. Owners of the Galaxy S25 and S25 Edge might get upset as both mainstream flagships are capped at 25W charging. It’s the same case with the S24, S23, and S22 phones.
Galaxy S26 Plus might not see the light of day, and Samsung is indirectly bringing a gap filler in advance. With its October debut, the S25 FE might be a nice alternative for those looking at the S26 Plus as their next smartphone upgrade.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 ensures portability, and the S25 Edge aims at a sleeker design. Both have their own design advantages. Meanwhile, both lag when it comes to battery capacity and charging speed as compared to the cheaper S25 FE.
