One UI 7 Battery Life Problems – What’s causing the drain and what you can do

For instance, a Galaxy S24 Ultra owner noted their phone’s screen-on time dropped to about 5 hours, compared to 6–7 hours before the update.
Another user having a Galaxy Z Fold 6 reported their battery falling to 20–25% by the end of the day, down from 45–50% previously.
Similar experiences have been reported with the Galaxy S23 series, where some users now need to charge twice or even thrice a day for basic tasks like browsing or watching videos.

The issue appears to persist beyond the typical post-update optimization period, which usually lasts a few days to a week as the device adjusts to new software.
Users have also noticed related problems, such as phones running warmer than usual or apps loading slowly, which may contribute to the increased power consumption.
What’s causing the drain
While Samsung has not officially confirmed the cause, several factors could explain the battery drain. Since One UI 7 is a major software update, its new features, animations, and background processes may have been demanding more power.
User-installed third-party apps may not have been fully optimized with the new OS, causing battery drain. Another possibility is that background processes, such as system optimizations or data syncing, are running more frequently than needed.
What can you do?
If you’re experiencing battery drain after updating to One UI 7, here are some practical steps to try:
Clear the cache:
- Go to Settings > Device Care > Storage and clear the cache for apps.
Enable Light Performance Profile:
- Found in Settings > Battery and Device Care, this mode reduces performance to save power.
Turn off AOD:
- Disable Always On Display, reduce screen brightness indoors, or switch to Dark Mode to conserve battery.
Update Apps:
- Ensure all apps are updated, as outdated versions may not work well with One UI 7.
Factory Reset (last resort):
- Some users report improved battery life after a factory reset, though this requires backing up data and reinstalling apps.
If your Galaxy device’s battery life has taken a hit since the One UI 7 update, you’re not alone. By trying the steps above and staying updated on Samsung’s response, you can manage the issue while awaiting a potential solution.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 Ultra update allegedly introduces a camera headache

Galaxy S25 Ultra camera flickering reports are rising after the software update. A new video has popped up online, displaying the broken camera functionality filled with flickering problems, allegedly on an S25 Ultra.
In the past, a few Galaxy S25 Ultra owners have noticed their ultrawide camera acting up at the 0.6x zoom. It shakes or vibrates, making photos and videos blurry. A video posted by @Samoneui8 on X shows this shaky viewfinder in action.
Since the phone launched in February 2025, similar complaints have popped up on Reddit and Samsung’s Community Forum. Users mention a rattling noise and an unstable image, which is a real headache for photography fans.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s issue isn’t affecting everyone; millions of phones are out there, but it’s a disaster for those hit by it. Users have tried clearing app data and even resetting phones, but it seems to be a hardware problem.

The company hasn’t formally said this is a widespread problem, but it has fixed some faulty units under warranty. Authorized repair shops have swapped out camera modules, calling it a hardware issue in those cases.
If you’re dealing with this, visiting a repair center is advised, as the 12-month warranty should cover fixes. Samsung’s support also notes that indoor lighting can cause screen flickering, but this may not fully explain the camera issue.
Software couldn’t always be blamed for smartphone problems. It plays a role, can ruin the experience, but not always. In the camera flickering problem, users have had their phones repaired at service centers.
That said, if the problem appeared just after the software’s installation, it could be a coincidence. Millions have already installed the June patch and even the second Beta, but there are no widespread reports on the internet.

Samsung’s forgotten voice assistant struck with an issue, a fix rolling out

Bixby is Samsung’s smart virtual assistant that helps you use your phone more easily by learning your habits and preferences. The issues spotted in the Bixby app version v3.7.12.18. In this version, Bixby is not responding properly on some devices. When you say “Hi Bixby,” it suddenly stops working or shuts down without response. This issue does not happen all the time, but it happens often enough to cause problems.

Here’s how you can fix One UI 7.0 Recent Apps screen overlapping

Some Samsung Galaxy users are facing a strange problem in the recent apps view after updating to One UI 7. When they open the recent apps screen, the apps sometimes look messy, like overlapping. This can make it hard to see or switch between open apps.
This overlapping apps issue happens randomly when users check the list of recently used apps. Instead of showing the apps list, the screen sometimes shows them stacked on top of each other or shows leftover images from other apps.
The issue does not happen all the time, but when it does, it can be annoying. It looks like a display glitch and doesn’t affect how the apps actually work.
Samsung has confirmed that the company is already aware of the recent overlapping apps issue in One UI 7. It is also working on a software update to fix the problem. Until that update is ready, a community moderator has suggested a simple temporary solution.
To temporarily fix the issue, users just need to turn on the Auto Rotate feature and rotate their phone. For that, swipe down from the top right of your screen to open Quick Settings >> turn on Auto-Rotate by tapping the icon >> Rotate your phone sideways (landscape) and then back upright (portrait). This can refresh the screen and remove the overlapping issue.
Samsung will release a new software update to fix this bug. To make sure your phone has the latest fixes and improvements, check for updates regularly through Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install. Stay tuned.

To do this, you just need to tap and hold the Calendar widget >> click on the “Remove” option >> go to the widgets menu, and add it back again. These easy steps might bring the text back to normal.

These issues caused frustration as users were sometimes not able to answer their important call.
Fortunately, Samsung has acknowledged the Phone app issues and has already released a fix. You can solve the problem quickly by updating one app on your phone.
Samsung Phone App Freezing Issue
The issue happens because of a problem with the Bixby Wakeup app, which is responsible for listening for the “Hi Bixby” voice command. In version 2.6.11.18 of this app, there’s a bug that causes voice recognition to stop working correctly.
