Ahead of the Beta release, we have seen several leaks of One UI 8 that reveal new features and design changes. Now, a new leaked build of Samsung’s One UI 8 shows a big update to Auracast. It is a Bluetooth feature that lets you send audio to many nearby devices at the same time.

Samsung will reportedly bring a cleaner look and better controls to Auracast with One UI 8. When you open Auracast, you’ll see a bright and colorful banner at the top. This banner uses pictures and simple words to explain what Auracast does.

Moreover, the buttons and layout have also been redesigned to match the style of One UI 8. The buttons now have smooth edges and are spaced out better to make them easier to press.

Currently, it is hard to tell if Auracast was on or off. With One UI 8, color changes, moving icons, and big buttons will make it very clear when you’re broadcasting. It is one of the amazing changes that clearly shows when you are sharing audio.

Furthermore, a new feature is also available that lets you share your Auracast session using a QR code in One UI 8. Instead of going through settings or menus, people can simply scan the code with their phone and join right away.

Samsung is quite late in deploying the Android 15 upgrade on eligible Galaxy devices. The Stable One UI 7.0 rollout started in late April and expanded to several Samsung models in early May, but it’s not going to be completed this month.

Google announced Android 16 will be released in June for Pixel devices. The company has also promised that Samsung devices will debut Android 16 this summer. It’s the first time Google teased Samsung’s software update plans.

Since the Stable version is coming in the Summer, Samsung has to start the Beta earlier. A smooth One UI 8 Beta can’t be assumed alongside a continued One UI 7 rollout. Therefore, Samsung should complete the One UI 7.0 rollout this month.

Samsung’s 2024 flagships were scheduled for an upgrade in April. May 2025 was aimed at upgrading all the flagship phones released in 2021, 2022, and 2023. However, Samsung has also updated some mid-range phones to the new OS ahead of schedule.

While the rollout has picked up pace, Samsung still has many Galaxy devices for the One UI 7 update. Several devices “currently” running One UI 6.1 are also eligible for the One UI 8 upgrade so the One UI 7 gap should be filled first.

Samsung’s flagship phones are now receiving May 2025 security patch following the One UI 7 update earlier. It shows the company has moved forward for flagships but mid-range and budget phones are yet to be updated.

One UI 8 Beta is rumored to be kicking off later this month or early next month. Since the Stable debut is likely in early July, a Beta Program launch in early June aligns with the company’s software development and testing strategy.

Samsung should now shift gears and fasten the One UI 7 expansion. The remaining devices from the Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F series should be upgraded within May so the Android 16-based One UI 8 Beta Program runs swiftly.

Samsung has kicked off the Android 15-based One UI 7 update to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 in Canada. This update has already been released in South Korea, Europe, the United States, and India.

In Canada, the One UI 7 update comes with the firmware version F731WVLU6EYD9 for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and F946WVLU6EYD9 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It also includes the April 2025 security patch, which keeps your phone protected from new threats.

The update is quite large, around 5GB, and brings a lot of new features and design changes. There’s now a vertical app drawer, new icon styles, and larger folders on the home screen. Animations are smoother, which makes the phones feel faster and more enjoyable to use, especially on foldable screens.

The Now Bar shows live updates on the lock screen, even when the phone is locked. Samsung also updated many built-in apps and redesigned the camera app to make it easier to use with one hand.

The update is being released gradually, so it might take a few days to reach everyone in Canada. To check if it’s available for you, go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Make sure to back up your phone before updating, since it’s a big update.

Aside from this, Samsung is planning to release One UI 8 with the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 in July 2025. A beta version of One UI 8 might be available in May 2025.

Samsung’s One UI 8 update is likely to debut redesigned Lock Screen Notification Settings. The company has recently uploaded a new One UI 8 build on its software server, adding UI tweaks for internal testing units.

Leaked screenshots from the One UI 8 build showcase that Samsung has overhauled Lock Screen Notification Settings. The redesigned interface reflects on on two menues: Notification pop-up style and Lock screen notifications.

The new software has integrated a dedicated page for the “Hide content while locked” function. This section has two options: “Show always” and “Hide when locked.” The feature description and layout are aimed at maximum clarity of the page.

One UI 8 also eliminates the unnecessarily existing Dot and Icons notification style for the lock screen. Since the One UI 7 only supports the Cards layout, the next version focuses on offering what’s useful to users by the system.

Samsung has also revamped the Notification pop-up style in One UI 8. The visual illustration has slipped a bit to vacate space for a brief description. Picking up a pop-up style will let you know what changes will come into effect briefly.

The app selection tab is missing on the page for the notification pop-up style. Edge lighting style turned into Add lighting effect, and the Color by keyword tab has been renamed to Lighting effect color by keyword.

These minor tweaks suggest that Samsung is refining the software entirely. From the settings UI to feature terms, everything is getting improved. These changes will help Galaxy users even more effortlessly enjoy their devices.

Notably, the colors of these wallpapers will change smoothly depending on the time of day. This means your wallpaper will look different as the day goes on, adding a fresh feel to your phone.

With One UI 8, you will be able to use these dynamic wallpapers on both the home screen and lock screen. Currently, with One UI 7, you can only use them on the lock screen, but the new update will let you enjoy them on the home screen too.

Users will be able to find the new dynamic wallpapers in One UI 8 by going to Settings >> Wallpaper and Style >> Change Wallpaper >> Colors >> Dynamic Wallpapers. The dynamic wallpapers are easy to spot in the wallpaper section, so you won’t have issues finding them.

Reports claim that One UI 8 will not be a major update like One UI 7, but it will make your phone experience smoother and more fun to use. Samsung is focusing on improving the features we already have rather than adding too many new ones in the next iteration.
