Samsung Galaxy A26 does not support Seamless Updates, unlike A36 and A56

After Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36, Samsung has released the first update for the Galaxy A26 smartphone in Europe. This shows that the Galaxy A26 smartphone does not support seamless updates like the other two Galaxy A series phones.
But do seamless updates really matter? Yes, it allows for installing updates in a faster and more efficient way. Most older Android phones use the regular update method. After downloading an update, the phone has to restart and shows a screen saying “Installing…” During this time, you can’t use the phone, and the process can take several minutes.
Seamless updates work differently. The update is installed in the background while you keep using your phone like normal. Once it’s done, the phone asks you to restart, and then it boots into the updated version quickly. This method is faster, safer, and more user-friendly.
Samsung first introduced seamless updates on the Galaxy A55 5G, and newer phones like the Galaxy A36 5G, A56 5G, and the Galaxy S25 series also support it. That’s why it’s a bit disappointing to see that the Galaxy A26 5G doesn’t have it, just like the other older phones.
Aside from this, the first software update for the Samsung Galaxy A26 smartphone installs the latest Android security patch released in April 2026 to improve system security and stability. Users can identify the update via One UI build version A266BXXS2AYC1 and an installation package size of 300 MB.
You can install the update via Settings >> Software Updates >> Download and install.
Samsung confident Galaxy A Series will cross 100 million sales with A56, A36 and A26
