Verizon rolls out stable One UI 7 update for carrier-locked Galaxy S24 users in the US

Samsung fans in the United States have been eagerly waiting for the stable One UI 7 update, and the good news is finally here. After the initial rollout began for unlocked Galaxy S24 users across the country, Verizon has now started pushing this major software upgrade to its carrier-locked Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra customers.
The rollout kicked off on April 10, 2025, right on schedule with Samsung’s earlier promise to bring One UI 7 to the US market. For those unfamiliar, One UI 7 is Samsung’s custom take on Android 15, delivering a smoother, more polished experience with a handful of exciting updates. Verizon users with locked Galaxy S24 devices can now join the party, following the unlocked models that started receiving the update earlier today.
To check if the update is ready for your phone, head over to the Settings app, tap on “Software Update,” and hit “Download and Install.” If it’s not there yet, don’t worry—it’s coming soon. Just make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and has enough battery juice to handle the download, which weighs in at around 5.2GB for those upgrading from One UI 6.1.
What’s New in One UI 7?
This isn’t just a small security patch—One UI 7 brings a bunch of changes that Galaxy S24 users will notice right away. Samsung has revamped the look and feel, adding smoother animations, a cleaner design, and a split layout for notifications and quick settings. It’s easier to use with one hand, which is great for anyone juggling their phone on the go. There’s also a new “Now Bar” feature that shows live updates—like music playback or workout stats—right on your lock screen without needing to unlock the device.
On top of that, Samsung’s Galaxy AI suite is getting a boost. You’ll find handy tools like Audio Eraser for cleaning up background noise in recordings, smarter writing assistance, and even call-recording summaries. These features, originally debuted with the Galaxy S25 series, are now making their way to the S24 lineup with this update. Plus, the April 2025 security patch is included, keeping your phone safe from the latest threats.
Other carriers, like AT&T and T-Mobile, are expected to follow suit soon, so if you’re not on Verizon, keep an eye out for your update.
How to Get It and What to Expect
Installing the update is very easy. Once you see the notification, just follow the prompts to download and install it. Since it’s a big file, it’s best to do this over Wi-Fi to avoid eating up your data plan. After it’s done, your Galaxy S24 will restart, and you’ll be greeted with the fresh One UI 7 experience.
