Samsung’s One UI 7 unlocks Gimbal Subject Tracking feature for perfect shots

Samsung One UI 7 update brings several cool new features, and one of them is the Gimbal Subject Tracking feature. This feature makes recording videos and taking pictures much easier and smoother.
The Gimbal Subject Tracking feature helps you capture better content by automatically keeping the subject you’re filming in the center of the frame. This feature is located under the Connected Devices section.
Gimbal Subject Tracking
The Gimbal Subject Tracking feature of One UI 7 works when you connect your phone to a gimbal, which is a device that helps keep your phone steady while filming. Once connected, the feature automatically detects and tracks the person or subject you want to focus on.
Even if you move around or change angles, the gimbal makes sure the subject stays in the frame. It gives you smooth and professional-looking footage.
You can make the tracking even better by turning on Tracking Auto Focus in your camera settings. This setting works with the gimbal to improve the focus on the subject. It makes sure the video stays sharp and clear in your videos.
Moreover, when the Gimbal Subject Tracking is turned on, your phone will use Galaxy Buds or any other compatible wireless microphone to record sound. This ensures you get clear, high-quality sound while recording.
How to enable it?
Turning on the Gimbal Subject Tracking feature is simple. You just go to Settings >> tap on Connected Devices >> select Gimbal Subject Tracking. Once you’re there, tap the toggle to turn it on.

Will Samsung bring Lock Screen animation fix in May 2025 One UI 7 update

Some users report that there’s an animation-related bug on the lock screen, which Samsung should address with the May 2025 One UI 7 firmware. Notably, Samsung is gradually releasing the Stable One UI 7 update for Galaxy devices.
While Samsung took enough time in internal and Beta testing, the One UI 7 isn’t free of bugs. After lock screen shortcuts, the animation bug has been reported by some users on their One UI 7 devices, which the May 2025 update should fix.
Users report that the phone lock animation is laggy on One UI 7 devices. Users manage to reproduce the issue with a specific set of operations. Hitting the side key takes a bit to transition the screen to the locked state, which is weird.
We’ve seen several reports on Samsung’s community forum and subreddits. While the company hasn’t formally acknowledged the bug, the resolution is highly likely to be included in the next firmware update with May patches.
Galaxy S24 and S23 series have got the April patch with the One UI 7 update. Meanwhile, Samsung has recently released the April update for the Galaxy S25 series. The May 2025 OTA may take some time to be available for the Galaxy devices.
Samsung is running the One UI 7 Beta for the Galaxy A55. The phone yesterday received the third beta build in India, which included the May 2025 patch. However, the flagships require a more precise firmware to fix the animation.
Disclaimer: Samsung has not confirmed the contents of the May 2025 update. Based on the recent developments in the Samsung Community, the May update could be a bold one, but don’t excessively expect from the next firmware.
