UPDATE: Samsung started the One UI 7 rollout on April 10 in European countries.

Original Article: April 07, 2025

Samsung Galaxy smartphone users in the United States have been eagerly waiting for the One UI 7 update, and the good news is that it’s finally on its way. This latest One UI 7 software is built on Android 15 and promises a fresh look, smarter features, and a smoother experience for Galaxy users. If you’re wondering when your device will get this update, which phones are included, and where it’s already rolling out, here’s everything you need to know.

Before we dive into the details, let’s quickly cover what makes One UI 7 special. Samsung has revamped the design with a cleaner home screen, updated widgets, and a customisable lock screen. It’s packed with handy tools like the Now Bar, which gives you real-time updates—like your workout stats or music info—without unlocking your phone. In addition, it’s packed with AI tools, such as better writing help, noise removal for videos, and smoother integration with Google’s Gemini assistant. In short, it’s a big step up for Galaxy devices.

Devices That Will Get the One UI 7 Update:

Samsung has confirmed that many phones and tablets will receive the One UI 7 update. The rollout is starting with the latest flagship models and will gradually expand to older devices. Here’s the list of devices in the first wave:

  • Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra: The 2024 flagship trio is leading the pack.
  • Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6: Samsung’s newest foldables are also in on the action.
  • Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE: Last year’s flagships, including the Fan Edition, are next in line.
  • Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5: The 2023 foldables won’t be left behind.
  • Galaxy S24 FE: The affordable flagship from this year is included too.
  • Galaxy Tab S10 series and Tab S9 series: Samsung’s premium tablets are part of the early rollout.

After this initial batch, older models like the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Z Flip4, along with some Galaxy A-series phones, will follow in the coming weeks and months. Samsung plans to cover a wide range of devices, but the newest ones get first dibs.

Where Is the Rollout Happening Right Now?

As of today, April 7, 2025, the One UI 7 stable update has officially kicked off in Samsung’s home country, South Korea. This matches the company’s announcement from March, where it promised a global rollout starting on April 7.  The devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6 are already downloading the stable One UI 7 update in the country. Beyond Korea, the rollout is set to expand quickly.

Countries like Germany, UK, India, and Poland—where beta testing happened—should see the update soon, likely within days or weeks. Other regions, including parts of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, are also on the list for April rollout, though exact timing depends on local carriers and testing. For now, Korea is the only place where it’s fully live.

When Will the US Get One UI 7?

Here’s the part you’ve been waiting for: the US release date. Samsung has confirmed that the One UI 7 stable update will start rolling out in the United States on April 10, 2025. That’s just three days after the global launch begins in Korea. The delay isn’t unusual—Samsung often staggers updates by region to make sure everything runs smoothly.

On April 10, US users with the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6 will be the first to see the software update notification. A week or so later, around mid-April, the Galaxy S23 series, S24 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S10 and S9 series should join in. Older devices, like the S22 lineup and budget models, might not get it until May or June, based on Samsung’s typical schedule.

Keep in mind that rollouts happen in phases. Even if your phone is on the list, it might take a few extra days—or even weeks—depending on your carrier and location within the US. To check for the update, head to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install on your Galaxy device. Make sure you’re on Wi-Fi and have enough battery before you start.

Why the Wait?

You might be wondering why the US gets it a few days later than Korea. It’s all about making it stable. Samsung tests updates region by region to catch any last-minute bugs, especially since carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile often add exclusive changes.

If you’re in the US and counting down to April 10, there’s not much to do but stay patient. Double-check your device is backed up—just in case—and keep an eye on Samsung’s newsroom or your phone’s update menu. Once One UI 7 lands, you’ll get a notification, and you can dive into all the new features.

Samsung One UI 7

Samsung has started a global One UI 7.0 rollout and device owners are downloading this update as soon as it shows up, but there’s an essential practice of downloading apps update that you should perform after completing the installation.

One UI 7.0 is based on Android 15, bringing new features and capabilities that are much better than the previous software version. Moreover, the system has redesigned apps that look practical and improve visibility.

An Android update introduces new APIs, deprecates previous ones, and makes modifications to the existing ones. Developers must update their apps to align with the latest changes to ensure a smooth and functional user experience. Moreover, latest app updates could install the new features for better user experience.

A new OS update incorporates the security patches and better data protection, which also improves user data stored within the app. Furthermore, an app update has fixes for bugs and compatibility issues for a seamless user interaction.

The majority of the pending updates may belong to Google apps, system services and Samsung’s pre-installed apps. You can check them via Google Play Store and Samsung’s Galaxy Store.

Prior to downloading app updates, ensure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi. In most of the cases, the phone starts an automatic update, but you should verify the app updates with the following instructions.

Samsung to launch One UI 8 based on Android 16 in July 2025

One UI 8

Samsung may introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 in early July 2025 at an Unpacked event in New York, USA. Since these foldables are likely to boot Android 16, the new One UI 8 version would also launch alongside.

By launching One UI 8 with its foldables, Samsung could bring Android 16 to users before Google’s Pixel 10 series, expected in August 2025. However, Google’s faster Android release cycle is influencing Samsung’s plans.

While specific One UI 8 features aren’t yet revealed, Android 16 may improve desktop mode support, enhance health features, and add anti-theft tools. In recent firmware leaks, we’ve seen redesigned apps and minor UI tweaks.

Android 16 is expected to launch in June 2025, earlier than the typical fall schedule, and Samsung aims to align One UI 8 closely with this timeline.

One UI 8 is already in early testing. A leaked Geekbench listing showed a Galaxy Z Flip 6 running Android 16, and test firmware was spotted on Samsung’s servers for the Galaxy S25 series.

The Galaxy S25 series, launched in January 2025 with One UI 7, may receive One UI 8 shortly after the foldables. Samsung’s shift to an earlier One UI 8 release shows its response to user feedback and Google’s accelerated schedule.

Beyond that, this could mean faster updates for older devices, like the Galaxy S24 and S23 series. Galaxy fans are hopeful this signals a smoother rollout for One UI 8 across Galaxy devices, with Beta could backtrack to the August timeframe.

For now, Samsung hasn’t shared official details about One UI 8 or the foldables’ launch.

One UI 7 makes your phone vibrate when brightness hits 100%

Published

By

Samsung One UI 7 Quick Panel

If your Samsung phone vibrates randomly after the One UI 7 update, don’t worry, it’s not a bug. There’s actually a simple reason for it, and it’s all about the brightness. One UI 7 is the latest software for Samsung Galaxy phones, which brings some cool new features, including better animations and extra haptic feedback. Haptic feedback is the small vibration you feel when you interact with your phone.

In One UI 7, one of the new features is that your phone will vibrate when you adjust the brightness slider all the way to 100%.

This makes sense when you manually move the brightness slider to the maximum. You get a little vibration as a sign that you’ve reached the highest setting.

However, there’s something interesting happening when you let the phone adjust brightness automatically. This means you have set your phone on auto-brightness, and then it alerts you about it.

If you’re in a bright environment, like outside in the sun or near a window, your phone’s auto-brightness will increase the screen brightness to 100%. And when that happens, your phone will give you that same small vibration, even if you didn’t touch the slider.

At first, this can feel a bit strange, like your phone is vibrating for no reason. You might be holding it and suddenly feel a tap in your palm, but it’s just the phone reacting to the sunlight or bright light.

So, next time your phone vibrates unexpectedly, remember it’s just the auto-brightness feature working. It’s not a bug or a glitch of your phone, just Samsung’s new way of letting you know your screen brightness is at its highest level on One UI 7 devices.

One UI 7 lock screen blur on Galaxy S25 not working as intended

Published

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Lock screen

Samsung Galaxy S25 lock screen blur is not working as intended, despite the latest April 2025 software update. The lock screen blur engine is not consistent on the S25 series with the latest One UI 7 firmware version.

Tipster Alvin highlighted on X that the lock screen blur inconsistency remains yet to be addressed on the Galaxy S25 series running One UI 7. Notably, other devices with One UI 7 don’t have this weird visual-related glitch.

Samsung lock screen features two shortcuts at the bottom of the screen. Swiping left or right triggers the function linked to the service. While the transition is smooth, the visual effect is not consistent and needs to be fixed.

Swiping the shortcut just blurs up the entire lock screen on the Galaxy S25 models. The strength and transparency of the blur remain static. However, the transition and blur visuals are seamless and elegant on other models.

It is said that the blur glitch isn’t a new problem, but remains yet to be fixed even after installing the latest software update. The tipster has posted videos showcasing the blur inconsistency issue on the S25 Ultra, which you can watch here (X).

Lock screen is not the only function accused of being buggy on the Galaxy S25 series. Users previously reported blur engine flaws with the home screen widgets and large folders. Notably, Samsung has not yet acknowledged the issue.
