Samsung announced that the One UI 7 stable update rollout will start on April 7. This update brings a new AI-based interface to improve the Galaxy experience. One UI 7 update will add new features and improvements to more Galaxy devices, which are only available on the Galaxy S25 series.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Side Key

Some users report that there’s an animation-related bug on the lock screen, which Samsung should address with the May 2025 One UI 7 firmware. Notably, Samsung is gradually releasing the Stable One UI 7 update for Galaxy devices.

While Samsung took enough time in internal and Beta testing, the One UI 7 isn’t free of bugs. After lock screen shortcuts, the animation bug has been reported by some users on their One UI 7 devices, which the May 2025 update should fix.

Users report that the phone lock animation is laggy on One UI 7 devices. Users manage to reproduce the issue with a specific set of operations. Hitting the side key takes a bit to transition the screen to the locked state, which is weird.

We’ve seen several reports on Samsung’s community forum and subreddits. While the company hasn’t formally acknowledged the bug, the resolution is highly likely to be included in the next firmware update with May patches.

Galaxy S24 and S23 series have got the April patch with the One UI 7 update. Meanwhile, Samsung has recently released the April update for the Galaxy S25 series. The May 2025 OTA may take some time to be available for the Galaxy devices.

Samsung is running the One UI 7 Beta for the Galaxy A55. The phone yesterday received the third beta build in India, which included the May 2025 patch. However, the flagships require a more precise firmware to fix the animation.

According to a new leak, the May 2025 update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will be a big package, around 1.4GB in size. The leak shows the new software build as S938BXXU2AYDB, which was spotted on a Galaxy S25 Ultra.

One UI 8 leak previews stunning new blur aesthetics for dialog boxes

One UI 8.0

Samsung’s Android 16 upgrade could bring meaningful upgrades to the overall appearance. A new leak indicates that the One UI 8 update will integrate stunning new blur aesthetics for dialog boxes across the user interface.

Tipster TechKhaled posted alleged One UI 8 screenshots, spotlighting redesigned dialog boxes with a beautiful blur application. It appears to be a design breakthrough as compared to the previous One UI versions, making the view quite elegant.

In One UI 8, the dialog box would ditch the conventional solid background that adopts Light and Dark color modes. Rather, the new version switches to a high-density blur background overlay, which should be refined even further.

The latest One UI 7 is a massive upgrade in Samsung’s history. However, the One UI 8 will further refine the design with dynamic colors and a blur engine. The dialog box blur is just an example; Samsung has a lot more in its bag.

Earlier, we’ve seen leaked screenshots from the Samsung Gallery and My Files apps. The stock applications have also added minor yet visible tweaks. Quick Share could see a big design shift, adding dedicated Send and Receive sections.

Samsung is expected to launch the One UI 8 with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7. A recent report claimed that Samsung could hold Unpacked event in early July. We may see the official One UI 8 debut in early to mid-July, accordingly.
