Galaxy S24 Ultra

One UI 7.0 isn’t just an update but an upgrade for Galaxy S24 series users. Samsung has cleared the clouds of uncertainties by announcing the exact One UI 7.0 release date for all the flagship smartphones released in 2024.

Users of the Galaxy S24 series have been awaiting the One UI 7.0 upgrade for months. Their wait is now set to end in the month of April when the South Korean tech giant kicks off the official software update’s distribution worldwide.

One UI 7.0 will reinvent your Galaxy S24

One UI 7 comes with a simple, impactful and emotive design.

As far as the user interface is concerned, One UI 7 is a massive upgrade over the One UI 6. You get revamped Quick Settings, Notification Panel, rounded elements, brand new icons, and a lot more.

The latest version turned nearly every Samsung icon dynamic with a new appearance. Vertical scrolling Apps Screen has also become the first choice of a large portion of Galaxy users.

Samsung has also filled the One UI 7 with advanced intelligence, bringing the dynamic Now Bar, Live Notifications for plenty of apps, and Dynamic Island-inspired live activities.

What new features are coming?

I’ve been using One UI 7 on my Galaxy S24 Ultra for a bit now, and it’s changed how I interact with my Galaxy phone. The whole look and feel are cleaner—like, the home screen doesn’t overwhelm me anymore.

The home screen is less cluttered now, and I’ve been able to tweak the redesigned widgets and lock screen to fit exactly how I use my device. It’s intuitive—everything just flows better.

One feature I’ve found myself relying on is the Now Bar on the lock screen. Enhanced iterations of Writing Assist and Drawing Assist set to be available on existing Samsung phones.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 deal

While Galaxy users wait for the One UI 7 update, Samsung starts preparation to initiate another Beta Program. Latest developments indicate that Samsung could soon release One UI Watch 7 Beta, based on Wear OS 6.

Recently, X user Theordysm first spotted the One UI Watch 7 Beta firmware for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra models. It’s the first Beta build spotted on the server, which will change throughout the testing.

At present, the Beta build bears a PDA version number ending with ZYDA (Alfaturk ). The firmware is listed on Samsung’s US SW server, indicating that the Beta Program will be launched in the United States, apart from South Korea.

Google is expected to release official Wear OS 6 around fall this year. The next-gen Pixel Watch is also expected to boot the Wear OS 6. However, Samsung’s forthcoming wearables could mark the debut of the new operating system.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra launched with One UI Watch 6 OS. Similarly, the company’s upcoming smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, should be released with One UI Watch 7 out of the box.

Before releasing the new Watch and OS, Samsung is preparing to commence public Beta testing. In the first wave, the company will invite users of the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra to test the new features before public release.

Wear OS 6 is expected to replace Google Assistant with Gemini. Wear OS 6 may have even more customization options, and Enhanced Tile support is also expected.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip fold 5 February 2025 update

It’s a big day for Galaxy fans! Samsung has now started releasing the Android 15-based One UI 7 update for Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 foldable smartphones.

The company’s fifth-generation foldables are now starting to receive the Android 15 upgrade sequentially. Owners of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 in South Korea confirmed the availability of the major One UI 7 update today.

This release follows the Galaxy S23 series, S24 FE, Tab S10, and Tab S9 series. Except for the Tab S10 series and S24 FE, all the models getting One UI 7 today were released in 2023.

In the next few days, Samsung will open the One UI 7 distribution for more older flagships such as the Galaxy S22 and S21 series. Foldables such as the Galaxy Z Flip 4/3 and Z Fold 4/3 would also join the party around the same timeframe.

The new firmware will bump the current Android and One UI versions from 14 and 6.1.1 to 15 and 7.0, respectively. It’s a major upgrade that carries several new features and major design revamps across the operating system.

In addition to One UI 7 features, some new AI features derived from the Galaxy S25 series are also provided to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5. The Now Bar and Live Notification are also here to take the multitasking experience to the next level.

Android 15-based One UI 7 arrives early for Galaxy Tab S9 series

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9

In a surprise move, Samsung kicked off the One UI 7 rollout for the Galaxy Tab S9 series. Users are quite happy after this shocker as they have assumed the update won’t be here in April as the roadmap listed Tab S9s for May 2025.

Samsung’s One UI 7 update installs the Android 15 operating system. Due to the Beta Program unavailability, users of the Galaxy Tab S9 series are now starting to get the One UI 7 update directly from the version One UI 6.1.1.

Currently, the OTA is rolling out in South Korea, which weighs over 5GB. Users are advised to download the firmware over an unmetered connection. You can identify the update for your Tab S9, Tab S9+, or Tab S9 Ultra through build versions:

Software Versions:

  • Galaxy Tab S9: X710XXU5CYD9
  • Tab S9 Plus: X810XXU5CYD9
  • Tab S9 Ultra: X910XXU5CYD9

One UI 7 update brings a fresh new user interface to Samsung devices. The redesigned Quick Settings and Notification Panel improve accessibility. The addition of Now Bar and Live Notifications elevates on-device multitasking.

The new software also has smooth animations with improved fluency. Every touch on the screen now feels even more natural than before. Samsung has greatly optimized the One UI 7 for Galaxy devices, keeping a user-centric focus in mind.

All the updates are currently limited to users in South Korea. Samsung has set a May 2025 timeline for the rollout, so it’s not good to mock it now. Still, the company should expand the update to Global users as the rollout is already late.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with One UI 7

The wait is finally over: After Beta testers, Samsung is now providing the official One UI 7 update to the Galaxy S23 series running One UI 6.1. The expansion is pretty quick, but Global users are still waiting for the update to arrive.

The official One UI 7 brings Android 15 to Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series. At present, the rollout is happening in South Korea, and the Global version could go live shortly. Users can identify the update via PDA build versions as follows:

Notably, Beta participants in four countries have unlocked access to the One UI 7 last month itself. Meanwhile, users who stick to the official One UI 6.1 version were patiently waiting for the Stable update to be released by Samsung.

The day has arrived; you can download the official version in South Korea today, coming soon to more countries. To check for updates manually, head towards Settings, followed by Software update. Hit the Download and install key.

You also get even more customization options through One UI 7 and the 2025 Good Lock. DIY Home and Gesture Animation Tuning are the most standout features of this upgrade.

Stable One UI 7 is about to hit Global Galaxy S23 models

Published

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung’s Stable One UI 7 update is available for Korean Galaxy S23 series users, and it will soon be headed to Global models.

Last month, Samsung opened the One UI 7 Beta Program for the Galaxy S23 series in Germany, India, South Korea, and the US. The company has rolled out two major Beta updates before bringing the Stable build to Korean Beta participants.

This follows a careful testing phase to ensure a smooth experience. Samsung’s cautious approach with the Galaxy S23 series should ensure a stable experience.

After the serious bug reported in Galaxy S24’s Stable One UI 7 update, Samsung is playing it safe with the Galaxy S23 series. The initial rollout has only begun for Korean Beta participants, opening the path for Global models ahead.

Global Galaxy S23 users should see the Stable One UI 7 update in the coming days or weeks, likely in May 2025. The rollout will depend on regions and carriers (and might be delayed, too), so keep checking for updates.

One UI 7 introduces a refreshed design, improved Galaxy AI features, and a new battery icon. These changes aim to make your Galaxy S23 feel faster and easier to use.

Animations trigger instantly on touch, with faster response rates. The camera app gets a minimalist redesign, and separate quick settings and notification panels simplify navigation, making your S23 feel snappier.

We recommend disabling lock screen security before updating to avoid potential issues, based on past experiences. Earlier, a serious lock screen bug paused that release, prompting Samsung to take extra care with the S23 series.
